Having owned my 2018 LC500 for almost five years I can tell you that had I purchased any other car you mentioned in the same price range, the cost of ownership would have been prohibitive. Those other cars break and the break often and when they do break, it's expensive to fix them. But, this Lexus has only cost maintenance as suggested by the factory. Filters and oil changes and that's about it. No cheaply made broken electronic relay boards found on those other cars. Nothing! The car simply runs and drives like new. It's not a race car but it's fast enough for me. Using VOICE COMMAND, I almost never use the trackpad. It's literally a PERFECT CAR and I really have to feel sad for anyone who buys anything else. They blew it.
Wow, thanks for watching and thanks for your great comment. Very, very true about the experience over these past five years, compared to a European sports car. And I think I mentioned that in the review, Lexus gets you 200K+ miles of uninterupted driving with no issues at all. You can't beat that bulletproof reliability. Thanks again for watching and please subscribe to my channel.
Sorry Fred but saying that the LC is somewhat the luxury version of the RCF is so wrong. I was hoping that you would of done your homework on the full development of the LC to realize that besides the engine, the two cars don't share a single component, not even the platform. Thumbs down compared to other reviewers who did a much more thorough job preparing their video reviews.
Well, sounds like you should be watching those other video reviews, not mine. I was talking about how the car felt to me. I've driven over 1,000 miles in each car, have you even driven either one? Whether they share engines or any components or not, there is still a similar feel, driving position and experience. You need to drive both before you comment.
Luxury Fred I owned an RCF for 14 months before trading up to an LC, the driving dynamics are very different as is everything else about the two cars...
Though, they have different chassis, (I own an RCF Carbon/TVD), LC500 has more luxury and better technology while RCF being under 400 lbs lighter and quite a bit smaller, tends to put down better lap times on most tracks (and straight line acceleration). Still in some ways, Fred is right that they have some similarities in driving characteristics.
Me? dream car LFA LOL. Seriously, I would stick with the RCF with Carbon/TVD. LC500 is a great car. LC500 most luxurious car Lexus has today with an exotic exterior and drives amazingly well, but my preference is smaller size cars. RCF at 185 inches, is already quite big so I would not want to go bigger. Mine is a Molten Pearl so it still gets crazy attention everywhere it goes LOL
Yes, it does. Real, natural materials are better and more expensive and to me, they are more luxurious. That's why you don't find Alcantara or microfiber in a Bentley, Maybach or Rolls-Royce, only real woods and leather and suede. Air conditioning is a modern technology, it's not comparable.
Yes, but I don't remember it as being super cool, now that you ask me. This was a 2018, so they may have made changes for 2019. I would check the Lexus website or call a dealer and ask. Thanks for watching and please let me know which one you choose!
Hey sorry frd 2 below I own one and sold my NSX next day It is an unreal car with out a doubt I love it so much after over 50 cars. what kind of car do you have mr enigneer???? LOLOL Kinda founds like you wish you had job beating up super cars to lolollolol Sport + all day for me
Thanks for watching. I checked the window sticker, this color is called Nightfall Mica. It's a standard color as I don't see any upcharge for it. They may have offered a few blue colors in 2018, this car was a 2018 model.
if the LC is the 'luxury version' coup, whats does that make the RC than? 🤨 and omg RC-F is a HATCHBACK now too? go back and look up what makes a hatchback, because thats one huge false statement!!!!!!! By your logic, every COUPE that can fold down the rear seats becomes a HATCH? Fack, imagine if they made the rear seats of the LC fold down, than this would be a HATCH 🤣👌
Thanks for watching the video. I think RC is racing coupe or race coupe. Yes, a hatchback would technically be a car with a single piece rear glass which opens up, not something with a separate trunk. Like the C7 Corvette is a hatchback by my definition. If I called the RC-F one, I mis-spoke.
mrpmj00 1) bigger engine 2) car play in 2019 and later. Also you can pay $200 to get it on the 2018 version 3) sun roof is available on non carbon fiber trim. 4) 2nd row is not meant for adults

Great comment, thank you very much for the info. If price was no object, which car would you drive?

A beautiful GT, and sounds amazing
I agree! Have you seen that Lexus just launched a convertible LC, it's coming in the summer of 2020. Thank you for watching the video.
PERFECTION
I agree. So many great cars in this price range ($100K). Thank you for watching.
It’s funny how this guy’s name is Luxury Fred, and yet he doesn’t know what alcantara is.
Luxury Fred just because something is not organic or natural does not mean that it is not a luxury item. Air conditioning includes this.

Luxury Fred except you do find alcantara in all of those cars...
You should read up on how leather seats are made. They skin the animals while alive ...I don't understand how we are still equating luxury with murder
@@happios Wow, is that true?!
Great video. The LC is a beast. Lexus allowed us to review the car as well. If you can check it out. ✌🏽
Thank for watching. Lexus didn't allow me to have the car, I snuck it out when no one was looking.
Does this car have or offer "ambient lighting" like the Mercedes Benz or BMW have? I love the car however this will factor into my decision.
Yes, but I don't remember it as being super cool, now that you ask me. This was a 2018, so they may have made changes for 2019. I would check the Lexus website or call a dealer and ask. Thanks for watching and please let me know which one you choose!
Yes but it's subtle not like your typical night club .

Sport + all day for me
Ha, great comment, thank you for watching and enjoy every second of that great car!
What colour is this vehicle?? Doesn't look like the standard blue
Thanks for watching. I checked the window sticker, this color is called Nightfall Mica. It's a standard color as I don't see any upcharge for it. They may have offered a few blue colors in 2018, this car was a 2018 model.

Irritating guy, watch it for 4min. He "thinks" he's the man acting all "cool". Anyway, it's personal. Bye.
I am very cool. Thank you for watching, you can read more about my experience with the LC 500 at www.luxuryfred.com.
This thing is a beautiful beast! Only thing I don't like is the passenger grab handles.
It was amazing. I didn't mind the grab handles! Thank you for watching, I'm hoping to review the 2019 in a few weeks.
Good job Ringo...
Thank you George.
Lexus LC500 engine is too tall. Too high center of gravity. No Apple Carplay. No sunroof. 2nd row headroom is worse than the RC350.
Apply Car Play now available for $199.95 at Lexus Dealers
mrpmj00 1) bigger engine 2) car play in 2019 and later. Also you can pay $200 to get it on the 2018 version 3) sun roof is available on non carbon fiber trim. 4) 2nd row is not meant for adults
Nice GTA 5 mod
Great video, thanks.
It looks a little Aston Martiny from the side 👍
Thanks for watching, I agree. If you check the Lexus website, they have a video shootout of the LC 500 and an Aston-Martin on a racetrack.
Basic reviews thats worthless.
Thank you for watching and for your basic comment! You can see more about my time with the LC 500 at www.luxuryfred.com!
