I’d always value the opinion of someone that’s a background in engineering and fabrication….like you say you can understand and appreciate what’s gone into it!! Be good to see some more reviews, trials and demos, hopefully you’ll get more big players approach you now 😉 thanks for showing us it. Credit to the boys that manufacture it too
Thank you Linda, the girls love being outdoors. We are having a really good spell of weather after a difficult Spring and the lambs are thriving very well...👍
Hi David, thanks for the review this looks a great machine for lambs. I have a Ritchie combi-clamp which possibly could be better for ewes where they enter on the right hand side and exit on the left as I am right handed this is better for dagging I feel. Also trimming feet where I have good access and can lift up each foot for a trim and inspection. It does not work for lambs of this size at all where the Cotter is really good. Whats great about both of these machines is the saving on the back and it's like working in a sheep factory where all the gear is handy and the sheep come past one after another, also a radio with some music is nice 😊
Just realising I hadn’t replied! It is very good for young lambs too. Can Heptavac them very easily up the ramp as a big batch of lambs together or individually in the actual main part of the Shepherdsmate. Forcing pen is a good job and leads them all on through. Digital weighing and daily live weight gain indicator is outstanding bit of a game changer I think. Sheep and lambs were a bit wary first time I used it but they walk through themselves now and very calmly too. Straight to the footbath or can draft them off to the left or right if needed which was handy when pulling ewes off to get them clipped which was a 1 hour job last year but this year now I have the Shepherdsmate it only took 10 mins. George at Shepherdsmate has been very good to deal with too which is good. Great product.
Welcome back Sir .. absolutely beautiful documentary countryside content video and I really appreciate and enjoy watching your lifestyle over there and appreciate your efforts and hard work for sharing your beautiful informative to all of us out here, keep it up Sir and you doing an excellent great job, keep rocking my friend and your beautiful sharing adventure is much appreciated, have a wonderful blessing day and take care .. best regards from Montreal QC Canada ..
Loved Cammy's rollercoaster just wouldn't like to be the unlucky lamb lifter. My weighing scales gives a total weight of batch - 6200kg. My back is sore thinking about it....🤣
Great looking job get through them fairly quick must look into one but like yourself say id only be interested with the 60% off have sheepeze great for dosing and sorting but lambs not that easy worked on in it
That looks really good and thanks for demonstrating that you can use it for ewes too. My only concerns would be the cost needs to be well under an automatic machine and is there a version for right handed shepherd's?!
Can't see why it wouldn't work with horned sheep. Thought at times some of mine were going to jump out of ramp, none did. Maybe be a problem with horny sheep?
I wondered that myself before using it... When the floor drops the lamb drops a little bit into the sloped sides. If you try to lift the floor back up without releasing lamb essentially you have to lift the lamb back up which wouldn't be possible with a simple press of your heel.
Lovely handling system and Cotter Crate people, please give this fabulous farmer one.
Thank you. A sheep farmer can only dream 🤣

Well said!
Doesn't have quite the comedy value of the Te Pari lamb roller coaster Cammy has, but it looks really good!
you and cammy are both grate lads hard working thanks for your video
Thank you James.
I think Lizzy does most of the work for Cammy...🤣
A smashing bit of kit of kit, of course your experience made it look better😂, great watch thanks for sharing
That is a very well built machine, i think its better then the clamp because you can handle ewes and lambs at the same time without adjusting it
Absolutely right. Being able to catch small lambs makes it so much easier 👌
@@sheepschool365 i actually texted them yesterday to see what the price tag is and if they ship to canada. 12000 Canadian +shipping 😫
Nice sheep handler. Hope it makes it easier. Those lambs are really growing well. 😁👍👍
Both your girls are adorable ❤️

There is some clever people in the world what a difference that makes to a days work great piece of machinery
Awesome thank you so much. Great functionality for sheep and shepherd alike. 🙏💜
Glad you like it!
Great video. Very good piece of equipment 👍🏼. Enjoyed watching
Thanks 👍
Super job, great video David.
@Our Farming Life Thank you guys. I enjoy watching your videos. Too great vloggers in the making...👌
Great video David that’s a handy piece of kit 👌
Thanks Gary 👍
Looks a great job that 👌
Thanks Adrian. It really is a masterpiece! Takes all the hardship out of Sheep work.
Very handy way of working with 🐑 sheep Patrick in Meath

Definitely saves the back. I dread those first jobs with lambs but I wasn't in the slightest bit tired after that batch..
That's a great yolk David and it's Irish made too. You will have to treat yourself to one.
Would definitely have one at the shed for a permanent handling unit. Maybe some day .🤞
Great video as always keep up the great work and videos that would save you a lot of time if you get it
Looks good.
I recently got a ShepherdsMate. It is very good too.
Shepherds Mate seems like a well made machine too.
What is it like for young lambs?
Just realising I hadn’t replied!

Sorry just seen this comment have you got the turn over Crate with it
@@dylankelly1483 yes got the turnover. Good job. The squeeze and the weighing are the best parts i think. So quick!
Thanks very much looking to get one myself

Handy looking yoke! You may have to invest 😁
The Shearers have me broke...😜

Nice kit
I’ve seen it all now between cammy’s new baby lamb machine that made me laugh & now this one, I wonder which is the better one, thank you 😊

A great piece of engineering any thing that saves the back is good.Better than dosing them in pallets it leaves man and sheep in good humour😂
I remember those days with pallets and bad gates. The stuff of nightmares....
Ideal to be dropping lambs into a foot bath too.
That looks really good and thanks for demonstrating that you can use it for ewes too. My only concerns would be the cost needs to be well under an automatic machine and is there a version for right handed shepherd's?!
I believe there is a left or right handed version available when ordering.
Looks great how would it work on horned mountain sheep
Can't see why it wouldn't work with horned sheep. Thought at times some of mine were going to jump out of ramp, none did.
Maybe be a problem with horny sheep?
Looks a good job David. What sheep software are you using?
Using TGM's software. They are based in Northern Ireland. Great tool for the performance recording and very easy to link data to Sheep Ireland.
Use it myself & find it great. You have a lot newer handheld than i do. What were your dwg like?
Hi David, just wondering what reader have you got and does it sync to flockwatch? thanks.
Reader is Agrident APR600. It does connect with Flockwatch but you have to enter the weight from the clock manually on the App.
2:43.. what is that spray? N for what? Enlighten me please🙏
It's a chemical called dicyclanil which prevents blowfly strike commonly known as maggots with 19 weeks protection.
@@sheepschool365 wow..just spray a splash on his back, can protection 19 week..cool.. thanks for the guidance..
How muck is that machine.. its brilliant
Not sure exactly, chat to the Cotter lads directly. Definitely brilliant!
im hoping to go to ploughting championships in 2024. first time time will be there
Wish my boss would get one, we're still lifting 1,600 lambs to do the work on them 😭
That's a lot of lambs to be lifting... Are you lifting them onto a lamb chute with rollers?
@@sheepschool365 we got a vet marker crate but still have to lift them
1600 lambs at 20kg average. 32ton. Back breaking stuff🥵
A great but if kit really saves the back
At first I though it was dropping the lamb into a dip
What type of gun are you using for the click
It's Clik own applicator gun, here's a link below. Not cheap but too expensive to be wasting it...
www.agridirect.ie/product/clik-pouron-gun
It seems a lefty version?😮
It can be bought either left or right handed.
Why not just let the lamb walk out like the ewe, whats the purpose of the drop floor?
I wondered that myself before using it...
When the floor drops the lamb drops a little bit into the sloped sides. If you try to lift the floor back up without releasing lamb essentially you have to lift the lamb back up which wouldn't be possible with a simple press of your heel.
Seems like a long drop for a lamb.
