Very intriguing, yes i always avoided Race for the Galaxy due to the icon overload everyone speaks of. Wow, i had never heard of the city. There are some elements of this that reminds me of Star Realms.

Idk if you've tried race since this comment was posted, but the iconography isn't as hard as people make it out to be. There's also a cheat sheet for each player.

Omg am I the only one who finds that the rulebook is very unclear?

I found it only a bit unclear, even after 3 readthroughs there were points which I did not get the right way, although it is a pretty simple game. Not sure it is the rulebook's fault though :D Could have been a bit more thorough like +1 pages or so to clear things up a bit more.

I have no idea what the “/“ means for VPs - do I ADD if I have the right icon/planet etc? Or ONLY score IF I have the shown icon/planet?

@@PoundShopOrwell the / can be read as "per", so if you see something like "(vp icon): 1 / (blue planet)", that's saying you earn 1vp per blue planet you have in play
the best way to get answers to question slike this is to head over to boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/205597/jump-drive/forums/0 there are bunches of people who will generally fill you in on anything you need to know there! :)

Why is the 0, 1, or 2 cards an oversight?

it's just weird that the aid says you play 1 or 2 cards on your turn, forgetting that you can also opt to play 0

Disappointed - normally it’s charming how disheveled / quirky he is but his stuff is much more clear and straightforward
