That's an interesting Siren, I know how Thunderbolt rotators have 2, 4, and 8RPM settings, but I counted 6 rotations per minute. Very cool how they swapped out the chopper in it, I used to have a Thunderbolt 1000T in my neighborhood. That one rotated at 8 RPM though.

@@trainsandsirensofilinmiwi2080 quick correction, this thunderbolt was located at 1817 Washington Street, Evanston, IL. the 2001 that replaced it is in the same exact spot. The concrete pad that once held the blower still remains
@@trainsandsirensofilinmiwi2080 yea and 2001's arent that bad I see that exact 2001 every 1 or 2 times a week I know that it sucks to see cool sirens go and i will know because Evanstons thunderbolts where my favorite I live close to station 2 and that thunderbolt was loud thunderbolts do carry further and sound cool but people dont care about that they what some things cheaper to operate and maintaining it and 2001's are great for that so 2001s arent that bad

Update, this siren was replaced with a 2001-130 in early February.

Even with Civil Defense long over there are still duel tone choppers available for these to be switched from single tone 1000 to duel tone 1000T

revolves... in a... minute.
It's an A1. But it's reverse wired.
