It's so cool that you have this guy! Though VERY expensive, I would love if u reviewed the old Godaikins! I often feel like I'm the only one who collects those kinds of toys.
I'm not from Peurto Rico so I dont know but they aired Mazinger Z back then? in original form dubbed in English or Spanish? Because I only knew of the English dubbed Western localization of it which was retitled to Tranzor Z which aired in 1985 when I looked it up and that was post G.I. Joe/Transformer/MASK. I still have yet to finish watchnng the anime (and Great Mazinger & Grendizer) myself. I got sidetracked watching the other giant robot shows from that era (Gaiking, Steel Jeeg, Danguard Ace, Voltes V, Combattler V, General Daimos) so need to catch up. One thing I recall seeing some kinda old commercial for either it or Great Mazinger which came with some giant tank accessory. Also another thing that always annoyed/confused me about Mazinger Z was his height measurements. I think they said its supposed to be 18 meters tall but just looking at the dimentions, it never makes sense to me. It looks like it should be way taller than that. Well the anime didnt bother trying to adhere to the official heigh measurments anyway as it had Mazinger Z being the same height as Great Mazinger and Getter Robo and Grendizer...
Growing up in PR we had a lot of TV Programming imported from Mexico and South America where Japanese animation was a huge part of children's programming. We were very fortunate to get a lot of Toei and other Anime series, in their original forms, dubbed to Spanish. Mazinger Z aired in PR around '81 or '82 before Transformers and G.I.Joe. I also remember watching Steel Jeeg, Star Battleship Yamato and a bunch more. I watched Mazinger and Jeeg but didn't pay much attention to the others. Thanks for watching!
