at the 5:30 mark you said 7.5 inch rise with a 10 inch tread....so are you saying the 10 inches is the depth of the tread??? does that mean that all those numbers you are dividing into 75 represents the depth of each tread
No, risers
10 inches is a good rule of thumb when planning the total stair run. In his example he is talking about risers mostly, but if you have a fixed area that your stairs can be built you need to account for the tread depth. This will impact the height of the stair riser greatly.
What is the standard hight of residential
Stairway steps or treads usually have a minimum width of 36 inches and a minimum depth of 10 inches, but I've heard in some areas that a 9 inch depth might be acceptable.
you are using width and depth of tread interchangably...very confusing
The width of the stairs has almost nothing to do with this video. Provide me with the minutes(location of confusion) so I can review any confusing statements.
