    I'm so glad I came across your videos. They are such gem tips and clears a lot of misconceptions too on how to fish. I learnt more watching your few videos than watching the other fishing guy who kept saying yeahbeda-yeahbeda in his TV show in 2000s. Ta for sharing.

    Very hard to do if your ice fishing with numb hands. At least if you’re catching fish and can’t keep your hands dry and you gloves on. I do almost the same Knott. My variation is instead of pulling it through the top loop and tightening it. I hold the hook and spin it. Easier with numb fingers. Put the line in the loop from by the hook eyelet. Then tighten the line and just tie a simple square Knott to keep it from slipping. I’ve caught plenty of 35 pound salmon, steelhead, bass, gummy sharks, flathead pretty much everything with this Knot.

    Is this your go to knot for bigger fish like jewfish? Thanks

    • @RogerOsborneFishing
      @RogerOsborneFishing 3 роки тому

      Yes but when I first put the line through the eye of the hook I loop it through again ( so that's twice through the hooks eye) and then continue with the knot at normal. I've caught plenty of big fish on it.

    • @RogerOsborneFishing

    • @cliftonjones5431

      @@RogerOsborneFishing Thanks for the reply. I found pulling towards the hook stronger with the tag ending up pointing away from the mainline with pulling away from the hook the weakest. The former was easier to pull up tight too. I was just curious .
