*I hope you enjoyed this studio vlog style video of a full week in the life of running a mouse ear small shop!* Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3 in the coming weeks!
In a weird way I feel like I'm part of this video. I ordered a pair of the ice cream sundae ears! I'm so excited that I'll be able to see them being made a little bit!!
Thank you, I look forward to the next installment. Once again I was at work when your shop opened and was not lucky enough to get a spot. One day I will own one of your churro ears!!🤓 You are also super organized and I love that you sew your ears onto the headband, most shops hot glue their ears onto the headband.
I loved watching this video! It's really interesting to see your entire shop process and since I was lucky enough to snag a pair of your Beignet ears, I have the opportunity to see exactly what went into making them!
Thank you so much for this video! I absolutely loved seeing you make your orders. You put so much time and dedication into your work, and it’s so great to watch!
I am in the dissertation stage too and I totally agree with you that it is hard to keep working independently while at home. Quick short breaks is a blessing. Keep going!
Can’t wait until you do another of this series, it’s so fun to watch. It would also be fun to be with you when you click open for the shop and watch them come rolling in ! I’ll have to keep watching this over and over until the next series woo
Hi Emily. This was fun to see your week of making ears and running your TA classes. I like how you organized everything. I am sure it made things easier to stage the ears you were working on. -Ali 🎀🏰💖
I love these videos, the behind the scenes and us getting to know you more. I listen to scary stories when doing my orders 👻 helps keep the concentration
I love this so much. Thank you. I'm also impressed with your supply stock and sales during the pandemic. It's been tricky to stock up on craft supplies!
I don't know if it would be cost-effective, but if you can make a digital rendition of the shaved ice fabric, you could upload it to a place like spoonflower.com and have it printed for you.
Thanks for doing this series - it's absolutely fascinating Also glad your shop is doing so well! But now I know to be extra early for your shop openings! 5 mins that's crazy!!
This was so very interesting to watch. You are so creative and have a great niche with respect to ears. I’m so happy your shop had been so successful. Take care
I’m making some ears for my family and they are not going too badly but can I ask you two questions? What do you use to help the ears to keep their shape? Do you use thick foam or plastic or something? Also what size circle of fabric do you use for your padded ears please? I’ve used a template off of google but once I have sewn and turned inside out the ears seem too small. Thank you xx
I'm not Emily and I know this is a month-late reply, but most people who make ears either use a sturdy foam sheets or use cardboard. I've made a handful of diy ears myself and cardboard worked fine for me. I rode on Splash Mountain multiple times with my ears and they did not deform at it. If you're worried that cardboard is too flimsy, I would definitively go with foam sheets. Fabric stores definitely sell them, but so does Dollar Tree in their school supplies area.
I love your kitty!! My cats have been so happy I've been stuck at home :) I love the video!! I have just started making my own ears (it's been something I've been wanting to try for so long!) Thank you for sharing your process! So inspiring!
Loved this video. Can’t wait to see the next one! I’ve been gluing the ears on instead of sewing and they get so messy looking and strings of glue everywhere I might give your way a try. Are those headbands comfortable? I ordered 10 off of eBay and they pinch behind the ears
why dont you have like pre-set ears made and have like 30 avaiable for each of your ear designs like the "classic" style. and then open your shop only for custom orders for stuff like changing color of ears or bows? or only have customizable bows and just dont glue/sew them on until you get the order for a specific bow. and just open your shop for custom orders. that way people can still get the classic style pre-made ears if thats the one they want and just use the different colored ears (like the churro star wars or the different colored lollipop ears) as custom orders when you open yourself to custom orders. also do you send them off one at a time when the ears are done of do you send everything together? i know as a business you can ask mail to deliver your stuff without extra shipping cost if you pay a certain amount each month or something (not entirely sure but i had an ear swap partner who didnt send out her ears until her custom shop orders were done and sent mine out with them though mine were free). how do you not get cat fur on your fabric? i have 3 cats and a dog XD even with a lint roller its hard to get it off. DO you tell people this on your store? because i know some people can be allergic to fur or even smoke (i live with a smoker) and that can de-vaule or prevent people from buying. also can you show us how you design ears like the idea process and the testing process for a new design you are thinking of making ? i think that would be interesting as well! do you ever feel like you need a longer break from doing ears or have you ever considered stopping? why/why not? have you ever thought about expanding and maybe working with someone that could help you or get a bigger space/business for your ears? do you keep in contact with other ear shops and see how they do stuff and trade information to each other or see what is popular? thanks for showing us your process and answering our questions! its very informative and i love watching people make ears! i make my own and am in a swap group for ears on facebook called diy disney ears. we help each other out and we do equal swaps so we dont pay or buy ears. People say I should open a shop but not sure what it takes and your videos show me that. i just want to make other happy and money is a bonus
OMGoof where did you get that Goofy Lunchbox? Sorry I’m a Goofy Fan 😂 and I loveeeeeeeeee your ears you have inspired me to make ears for my birthday trip to DisneyWorld
Sorry totally off topic, do you know the breed of your beautiful cat? We have a rescue tortoiseshell version who, let's say, has a few quirks. It would be great if we could do some research. Tia great video

What kind of fabric do you use for the churros??

I am in the dissertation stage too and I totally agree with you that it is hard to keep working independently while at home. Quick short breaks is a blessing. Keep going!
Those postage boxes look good for storing ears in
Love this video! It's so neat to see behind the scenes of a small shop - especially when it's not your full-time job.
Where is the cart from?
Really enjoyed this vlog. Its always interesting seeing a craftsperson at work, and your ears are just incredible.
I also have a small ear shop and it gets crazy sometimes. But I love creating them and being a part of so many family memories

Congratulations on your quality work!!!🎉🎊✨✨🌟

90 day fiancé 😂🙌🏻 Love this video! Your hair looks so cute everyday! 💖
So interesting! Maybe look into chain piecing? It is a quilting technique that can speed up sewing similar pieces together and saves thread!
buzzfeed unsolved 👌
You should hire a helper.
I absolutely love this content!
I loved watching this video and am looking forward to the rest of the series. I am excited that I get to watch my ears being made!
What happen in the printable fabric gets wet after ears are assembled?

Really enjoyed seeing your process! Congrats on the wild success of your shop.
You are a rock star! Great video.

Great video!💖
Hey, I have that dress with the shoulder cutouts! One of my favs.
i love this! :)
How do people pay you on Instagram please? Is is by PayPal? Or do you direct them to your etsy shop?
Cool vid! Where did you get the metal rack from? That’s a good storage idea!
I’m saving up my money for the next release and I can’t wait . But I have one question what is the least expensive pair of ears
I love that metal rack to display your ears! Where did you get that?
I have two questions: How much are your ears and do you still sell the cotton candy ears?
This was really cool to see^^ Also now I'm extremely in need of sweets🤣
