I’ve been intrigued by temperature quilts for awhile too. I love this pattern and will keep it in mind for the day I finally get around to it. I’m trying to catch up on way too many UFO’s this year. I’ve seen some folks use temperatures from a year in the past like perhaps the year of their birth. I’d put the precut squares and spare blocks in baggies by color, if I do make it. I laughed out loud to hear you get so excited about a 30 degree day.
This is something you can work on in the middle of your other projects. It truly is. To say that I am caught up and on March 2nd right now is a big deal.
I am very excited to be joining you. I selected my colors from FQ’s I had on hand, already have both January and February blocks made. About to build my first house!😊❤ Thanks for sharing and giving me direction. I have wanted to do a temperature quilt for a number of years, but didn’t like any I have found. This is perfect! Don’t normally like houses very well, but this fits perfectly with the theme, so I’m all in
Wonderful! I have another video coming about the roof, one about the blank block in February and another about organization. So glad to hear you will be joining me.
This is such a wonderful quilt! Thank you for sharing this - I have been looking at temperature quilts for a while and I hadn't seen this one but it looks fabulous!
Welcome back! You're making me want to start this quilt (which I had already decided not to do). I've missed your content and hope to see you again soon :)
HI, very cute quilt. Where can I find the colorchart? I don't see a link around your video. Also where can I get the temperature quilt pattern? Thanks, Betty
You got me thinking. It's our 50th wedding anniversary this year, so I found a website for my state of Minnesota of past weather history and was able to print out the temp for each month in 1974. I'm thinking I'll try the top part of the HST to be the max temp in 1974 and the bottom part to be the max temp for this year? So, each day will be two colors. Might be interesting? It can be a 50th anniversary quilt! Thank you for the inspiration.
I’m confused with the temperature quilt. Why do you need the high and low temperature for your area but you don’t use this information when making the block? 2023 temperature quilt used the high and low information in making the economy block. What am I missing in the 2024 block?
Typical temperature quilts balance color by using a high temp and a low temp for the day. This particular quilt only uses one of those measurements. You could make the quilt using the low temps and wind up with a cooler quilt or high temps for a warmer colored quilt. I am only using the high temp for mine. I hope this helps.
I started one this year. Hadn’t seen this pattern before mow and I love it. I even bought my fabric from FQS. I’ll have to see how I can use this pattern as I have 6 months already made. Fun.
This is my first time watching your video. I subscribed!!’

We have had a tough couple of months with a death in the family. Hoping we are back. You should make it. It’s fun.

@@CabinQuilters I forgot to tell you, I’m coming there for a retreat in April. Maybe we can compare where how much we get done.
