    Nice review! A set of Guyker locking tuners and some Epiphone or Vanson pickups and away you go.👍

    That guitar looks nice 😀! it needs the upgrades though , but as we all know there are good pu's and tuners out there wich won't break the bank , i can for myself not spend the money anymore on a US made fender/gibson/martin , there just way to expensive ( even 2e hand ) for my bugdet , so i have gone the bugdet guitar route and i think these chibsons are a good choice if you can do the upgrades yourself .

    Where did you order it from?

    I’m left handed so very limited in colour choices etc from the brand. I took a punt and looked out on a £200 Les Paul two years ago. Gorgeous flawless finish and even once I’m done tweaking it I’ll have still saved £3-4000 on an actual US Gibson version
    I don’t think I’d buy a proper Fender or Gibson again since the AE store will do customisations

    ABSOLUTELY you should buy one (or several, as I have). If for no other reason, for the necks, which are fantastic. Best, most comfortable necks (both the 42mm and 43mm) I've ever played. The fit and finish on these guitars is superb, considering their low prices, with the necks being superior to the real thing. (Plus the shaded tops reflect top-notch work, every bit as good as the real deal). Remember, you're dealing with CNC, high-tech machinery nowadays, and modern polyester finishes that don't turn icky yellow. The only bummer is the fake pearl, which when viewed close-up, is a giveaway (and pretty much the only immediate giveaway). But when viewed at a distance, the pearl would fool anyone. I can't imagine why the Chinese don't go whole hog on these things and put real pearl on them, despite the added cost of doing so. I have in my collection a Chinder Fake-o-caster (Strat) with a gorgeous flamed maple cap in a tasteful light brown color. That thing is dazzling.
    If you don't like the pickups, then CHANGE the pickups (duh). A change of other hardware items isn't gonna send you to the poorhouse. If so, you have much bigger fish to fry. But you can change/upgrade a lot of that stuff, and still come out THOUSANDS of dollars less than you would for the real deal.
    You're buying the NAME when you insult your bank account for thousands. These AREN'T the knockoffs of the 70's that were a joke. The Chinese have managed to dial it in correctly and admirably nowadays.

    Of course you can put 9’s on a Les Paul or SG. I’ve played these guitars for over 40 years and play 9’s.
    Billy Gibbons puts 7’s and 8’s on his Les Pauls.

      Why shouldn't you? Opens up the sound and is amazing for bending. Tony Iommi uses 8's with dropped tuning, which is like using 7's xD

    It sounds fine with the stuff you’re playing. But you have replace almost everything if you want it to be a good one.

    Looks awesome, I have a really cool 3 pickup SG replica and definitely want to try some of the others. I've been playing with replica stuff pretty often lately, before It had been a couple years since I'd try them, definitely have gotten a lot better. I think for someone that has basic tech skills that can do their own setups and part replacements the replica's are super fun, you're not limited to what you can do with superficial value of a "real" guitar. I started looking more heavily into them when I realized I'd spent about 15k+ in the past year on Gibson/Fenders. I've got all the guitars I really need. But I love projects and trying new things, and the replica guitars have really came in clutch for saving money and still being able to do things I want to do without having to frankenstein my more expensive ones, not only do they provide a nice esthetic for hanging on the wall, they're actually playable and sound great. Some come almost ready to play out of the box otheres require more work, if you shop around enough eventually you find a pattern by seller or by shop which will be the more likely to need less work. LS Custom Shop in my experience has been awesome, not perfect. But build quality has been top notch and needing only basic setup or parts swaps. Of course you can go more into it rolling the binding or fingerboards routing them for different things, paint jobs/relics whatever you're into. I've got 3 more on the way now. Been having a blast with them.

      Dude Gibson is fine. I also own real Gibsons. They’re not the same

      Gibson overcharges for what they offer and basically rips off their customers. What's the difference?

    • @basp-ef7jx
      @basp-ef7jx 2 місяці тому

      @@strat002 the difference is intellectual property. Gibson made a thing. They spent money on research and development, they got patents, spent more money on marketing. They own that thing. Now if you made a thing would you want some other company somewhere else to sell your thing? No, no you wouldn't. It's theft.
