  • We are through to the Top 8 of the "Twilight of the Republic" Melbourne Planetary Qualifier with a Jango Green versus Gar Saxon Yellow. Can Jango prove himself as Boba's worthy successor or will Gar's upgrade barrage will be too much for him to handle?
Thanks again to General Games for hosting a great event and the SWU VIC gentlemen for helping throughout the day to make sure the cast was a success.

instead of a deck check by a judge, players read each other's playlists before the games? that's counter-intuitive to how competitive events should be

It’s not instead. The deck checks were done between Swiss and Top 8. It’s in addition, giving the players a chance to know what they’re up against

@ yeah but why should they know what they are up against in a competitive setting? That’s what’s counter intuitive

@lucaspetroulakis8583 it's to limit the effectiveness of large teams scouting an event giving an unfair outside the game advantage to teammates within a large group. The open decklists level the playing field by having all info available, it's done is competitive mtg a lot for top 8 scenarios.

@@lucaspetroulakis8583 trust me it does not take anything away from the competitive aspect. At this level you know what the decks are anyway.
