Just got my sailrite a few weeks ago and been learning to sew as well. My first project was to replace the curtains on my old boat. Working with computers has spoiled me - with computers the distance between understanding something and having skill at something is quite short (ie, if you understand how operate an API, actually using it with good results is easy) but with sewing - and other boat projects - I've been realizing some things you have to just PRACTICE to develop skill at. Something that helped me get started with the Sailrite was to just get some extra throw-away cloth and practice making stiches. Their videos are great and make it look easy - just keep redoing it until you are happy with it. I made my first curtain over several times until it was good enough and I'll very likely remake it again when I'm a bit better at this.
Oh Yes, Extra Fast Hardener has 2 minutes in the pot before it solidifies and hits 500 degrees, no no in Florida. Thanks for showing us the Curtains, that is on my radar for Pirate Booty as she finally gets prettier by the day!
+Project Atticus Longer videos are nice, but it is better to get some quick updates than wait a week or two for a 35 to 45 minute video. This coming from someone who has not added one video to his channel. It is not that I have not done anything worth editing and uploading. One project our family did was buy kayaks for everyone, then we built a camper that slides into our truck bed that holds 6 kayaks inside and will sleep 5 people when unloaded. It was built over a year because everyone but myself was in college at the time.

You guys are and have move foward of the mistakes. THIS IS CALLED TEAM WORK LEARNING
It doesn't say much for the staff at West Marine if they didn't offer any advice. Your two are doing a great job.
Sailing Spokojny Thanks! Well, to be fair, we were at a local stock island fiberglass shop-- they aren't the friendliest of cookies there, haha!
Holy crap - Atticus has an inside!
furriephillips haha! Nice!
You both are doing some really nice work on the boat, but I wish your videos were longer to make the details of how things are done clearer.
0:40 Looking forward to learn about sewing SQUIRREL! :-)

wow! What an awesome project!
Well that was a waste of time. Learned not a thing. So change your headline.
How will you fund this lifestyle? Sewing.
Do you know how to sew? Not yet.
