  • When Mau Mau decided to fight the British colonialists, they did not have modern weapons. This is the story of man who made guns for Mau Mau. He says he would not make guns today, but it is clear he probably still has the skills. He says that the official church for most Mau Mau adherents was the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa, otherwise known as "Indi" for Independent. At that time, the strongest church was Presbyterian Church. Catholic Church, although still part of the colonial establishment, was relatively weak because it was identified with the Italians, who had been defeated in World War II. Mzee Theuri also tells of an ideological disagreement between Jomo Kenyatta and Dedan Kimathi, and how Stanley Mathenge disappeared after disagreement with Dedan Kimathi. These disagreements led to more binding oaths for the fighters, including physical markings that Theuri does not disclose. He was shot by a white man with a machine gun, and clarifies that no African soldier was ever given a machine gun. They were given single-shot rifles and shotguns. If a Mau Mau soldier got injured, he was treated using special medicines from certain herbs and the wound healed better than if it was treated in a modern hospital, he says. He also says that a relative of Hon. Jeremiah Kioni was was a headman in the concentration village, but he was a good man. At the end, he asks us to use the information he he giving us wisely. #maumau #africanhistory #kenya #kimathi #kenyatta

Please don't ever stop making history by telling history. This elder deserves everything and more. This is GREAT and needs to be spread over and over and over. We need to know who we are and where we're headed. Who our enemies are and how they've behaved and are behaving. Unity

They did. They had their own medicine men who used to treat major bullet wounds and other injuries.

What an oracle concerning the transgression of the wicked traitors of kenya. Leave alone man, they dont even fear God. Whose demise will be according to their mischief.

There are a few questions that ine can't help but wonder.
How is it that the good gun maker was not detained? What exactly transpired at Mweiga?
Collaborating from other stories, did he surrender after kûhūngwo mahūri? Why was he allowed back home?
