Thank you so much. I am Hindu by religion but spiritual in Faith. have been thinking to do this coarse as this was very reflective. Still have to find where to join as new to this country. 🙏 Thank you.
Welcome to the States! CPE was such a transformative experience for me; if you head in the direction of a CPE program, I hope you have a very rich experience. There are many CPE centers in the country. In my own county (Sacramento), there are actually four programs. I hope you can find one near you. God bless!
Saludos... Soy estudiante de Máster Divinity y quisiera saber si Ustedes tienen algún programa de entrenamiento en CPE bilingual, para hispanos..? Muchas gracias, quedo atento...
Thanks for the note. Double-checking: are you referring to “InterPersonal Relationships” session in a CPE program? If so, I had a slightly different structure years ago when I took CPE, and didn’t have exactly that format. But, I did speak with three colleagues who had this type of group in their training-I asked if I can feature them on this channel-we’ll see if they agree, so one of them can answer the question more thoroughly than I can. If they give a Yes to the idea, I’ll post!
Been trying to find a consice description of each unit of CPE. Since most sites only offer units I/II they only describe the first two and educator programs. A residency usually includes III/IV, can you offer any insight here? Link? Quick description of the difference in each unit?
You ask a good question. I have to admit I’ve forgotten exactly the specific topics that may have been reserved for latter units-the information & formation have sort of merged as a single thing in my memory of my training which was quite a few years ago. I think the latter units really was a deepening of the disciplines of self-awareness, listening, holding space for another, and pastoral leadership in focusing on my area of interest (which was detention ministry at that time). You may find it helpful to call a local CPE center and speak with a director about the specifics you’ve mentioned. If, by chance, you’re in the Sacramento region, I could suggest a few sites to call: ChaplainMattSanders@gmail.com. All the best on your journey!
Good question. A CPE program, by design, is to welcome students of any religious/spiritual background, and is to support our efforts to help patients/clients of any faith tradition, or none. If you happened to be looking for an interfaith seminary, there are a few of those in the country, but CPE programs are interfaith by design.
You can do them in either order. In my case, I did CPE first, then my Masters after that. You ask about doing the MDiv and CPE simultaneously-whew!-that’s a heavy load. Many blessings on your journey!
Thanks for the info as to current cost in your region. I think you'll find it well worth it. I know the training was invaluable for me. All the very best to you!
Thank you , very clear information, merci beaucoup
Thank you for sharing this. I am exploring CPE and found this video very helpful.
Blessing on your exploration! I found my CPE experience transformative. May you find a great fit!

Wonderful! I hope you find it to be a very transformative experience, as I did. It’s great to hear from another laborer in the vineyard!

Hello,
I have a question, do you start CPE after you complete your MDiv or can you do it while doing your CPE?
