I have 2 girls for about 3 years, one of them she is fine with me handling her, although she does not like being grabbed, she doesnt attack me for it, Diane in the other hand... she will crab and bite when she is in the pouch, once i have her in my hand she chills out and wont attck... yet she is the one that likes to groom my head lol.. they also play around me and when im on my phone, they come to check what im looking at or to ask for treats.. but it still Diane will crab and bite at me if I try to take her from her pouch lol... but she only bites once and once she sees i dont react, she quiets.. she draws blood though lol..

Thanks for watching. It is typical for gliders to be pouch protective and crab when in their pouches or to bite when grabbed. I have experienced that with some of mine too. They don't like being grabbed. 😊

hi i just stumbled upon your video because i was wondering why one of my babies suddenly hate me lol...
i have 2 new babies i got a month ago, they are around two and a half months old (i know this might seem young but people usually adopt around that age where im from :)) i do tent time but neither glider was ever interested in coming up to me at all, if anything they prefer clinging to the tent. im actually so worried because theyve been with me for a month and neither would stay on me at all, people around me told me it is because i let them adapt to their new space for too long when i first brought them home (i let them settle for around 1,5 days) im not sure if that factored in why they wont stay on me ? im scared because its becoming hard to bond with them when i cant even hold them :( and my little girl, who's been really sweet the past week, she suddenly refuses to eat at all from my hand or even from a spoon, like she's scared of me all of a sudden.. or more like shes always making gestures to smell really hard at something when im near but refuses me ?? i dont think i did anything to anger her or change any habits because like i said things have been good the past week (i tried the laundry thing lol!) , except maybe leaving for college during the day while they sleep ?

Hello! Thanks for watching. Your babies are still very young and you still haven't had them that long so it sounds like they are still adjusting. Sometimes they can take months to bond. And young joeys are usually scared. I think tent time is great. Maybe try taking a treat that they like in with you so they associate you with good things. Also, if you have bright lights on, I would suggest turning those down so it isn't so bright. Just let them crawl around at their pace. Carrying them around while they are sleeping is also a good way to bond. Also speak gently and move slowly around them, etc. Just continue to be patient. As they get a little older and get more comfortable with you, they will come around. Good luck!

Most sugar gliders, even if bonded, don't like to be grabbed and may bite if you grab them. I recommend not grabbing at them. Either let them come to you, or if you must grab them, try to cup your hands together and scoop them up or use a pouch or piece of fleece to grab them.
