  • HPE Greenlake is HPEs cloud services portfolio through which you can get all their solutions as a service. But up until recently, HPE Greenlake offered management for only 2 of 3 basic IT infrastructure building blocks: storage and networking, missing management form compute. However, with the addition of HPE Greenlake for Compute Ops Management, the management picture is now complete.
    HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management is HPEs first real attempt in creating a cloud management platform for servers. Let's take a look what it can do and how you can start using it today!

    what's the different between HPE infosight and compute ops management?

    • @TechEnthusiastInc
      @TechEnthusiastInc  Рік тому +2

      I know, there's a ton of similar sounding systems so that's a very valid question. In short:
      - InfoSight is "just" an analytics tool, it collects telemetry information from the target systems like storage arrays and servers, then analyses it using machine learning and history data and creates reports and recommendations. In best case it can even solve or prevent problems autonomically without user needing to do anything or even know about it. InfoSight is the reason Nimble Storage, Primera and Alletra have has such high availability levels compared to other storage arrays.
      - Compute Ops Management on the other hand is meant to _manage_ servers (and servers only) at a global scale from one cloud UI. You can connect all your Proliants to "CoM" and use it to check the current health status, update firmware etc. There's still a need to use iLO and/or OneView from some aspects of compute management, though. But HPE is saying that this is only the first version and CoM management capabilities will evolve over time. Remains to be seen if it will replace some of the other server management interfaces...
