It's been a very long time since I watched anything to do with Pokémon, other than your videos. I'm kind of almost a generation too old for them, but I remember watching the cartoon a few times. I had never seen Charizard have that blue and grey form.

When charizard changed colour, that was his mega evolutions. those are non-permanent evolutions that boost all his stats until the end of the fight. many pokemon have mega evolutions. My favourite ones are Lucario and Absol.
To be more specific when charizard changes colour (orange-black) and its fire changes to blue it is using a charizardite x and its charizardite y makes it megaevolve into a spiky version,i know because i have both of the mega stones so please dont start any drama with me im just specifying a detail (very important) that you missed.

In my opinion the best pokemon to have is either smeargle or gallade, they have false swipe which is super op for level grinding and catching pokemon because it can bring them to 1 hp, the best attacking pokemon can be debated but as long as you do good ev training(literally not neccessary at all) and have good levels and moves you should be good. I'm trying to defeat the elite 4 right now.
Edit: if you glitch under the map there is a button on the top left of the menu to reset your position. Press that and you will be good.
