I can't unimagine Towa being awarded a trophy by herself in a similar manner as a certain meme
Towa-sama organized the tournament and won the tournament. Another evil act was added to the list, Kenzoku are proud of her. 😂
😂 that meme yes

@@mynthics Obama.
You mean The Reapy's right? 💀
Suisei will be haunted by that last fall until next year
Yep. And how many times have we seen this movie? She lost to Aqua, she won the next one. She lost to Okayu, she won the next one. She lost to Towa? She'll be back next year.
Aqua can tease her with this entire year lol
Has Suisei won now or not? Or was there some house rule that prevented two players to win
@@Zengkoylegit start end with suisei in the middle
@@MrRiverJudesame house rule, suisei lost the coin flip
Suisei has no choice but to race more.
Sui-chan's torture continues till next year lmao
It was great. With the new office and studio they can do a lot more things. Towa also got Okayu to join her + Achan leading the rest of the staff members with misc work. I would imagine the cost to run the MK tournament is a lot less than the one for the Festivals, which was why Towa was able to do it alone the first time, tho she still had Achan to do official commentary when she was racing. Now that there are more members it got harder for her, but she managed to get more people on board too.
Looking forward to Sui-chan playing again next year lmao
Good job on Towa for stopping her retirement and huge congrats to her. Honestly, her and Sui-chan literally have the same points, you can't get closer then this.
Suisei before the tournament: Nah Id win
Suisei next year:🏎
I mean, I´m really happy Towa won the whole tournament, it was the perfect way to end it too. On one side, the first Towa win, after so long, and doing so stopping Susei from retiring, she´s an amazing Mario Kart player, so I didn´t want her to retire. On the other side even though Suisei got 2nd place because of the positionigs, she still got 1st place in points, an that for me counts as 1st place too.
LET'S GO TOWA-SAMAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
comeback champion after back to back pole
idk if im watching ALGS or holo new year mariokart
It's still technically a draw, 3rd place is 10 points below them. Well, maybe next year Suisei will actually lose, at least by one point.
There are no draws in the Tsuyo Cup. Drivers with the same points cannot be tied since one of the drivers must have won more races than the other.
Something's good, or Something's Bad?
If Only Suisei's finished up with 3rd place... She could've won it... Unfortunately... She Fall into the track, And She loses the tie?
Or Maybe the Towa's going to have a Lucky break for the final race?
Towa has 2 first place, while suichan only 1
why is suisei 2nd in the podium? She got the same points as Towa
It goes by highest finishes in event of a tie, and suisei won only one race while Towa won two, so the tiebreaker goes to Towa. Crazy finish!
Tiebreaker was determined by 1st place finishes, Towa had 2 while Suisei only had 1, so Towa wins.
@coreyodell6220 that doesn't make sense, though. Points are points. It's an absolute dumb rule & I'm surprised people are actually okay with that.
Each race matters. So towa won 2 races to Susie's one, but she did worse in all the other races. Again, points are points.
They need to change it to where if there is a tie in the final, both of them will race against bots (on hard) together in a best out of 3.
She got screwed big time. I would be pissed. This isn't like football or basketball, where two teams w/ the same record can be determined w/ head to head season records as the tie breaker.
@@OC.TINYYY I mean, you can feel it's unjust, but Mario kart and hololive communities disagree. That's the standard ruleset that everyone operates under ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If they'd pulled this rule out randomly that'd be one thing, but this is how Hololive has always resolved it. I could see doing something different specifically in the case of a final podium tie, if you really wanted to, but anywhere else would just be clunky. Tournaments n communities have agreed this to be the proper resolution, it'd be like complaining about timeouts in fighting games getting resolved by percent
@@OC.TINYYY so I'm not saying that your feelings are dumb or wrong, but if it helps, I can assure you Suisei is more frustrated with running off the map or any other point loss than she is with the tiebreaker system.
Don't get it. Why same score but towa first? can't be alphabetic order
Towa had more higher placements across the races.
Towa had two first places, while Suichan had one.
Edit: To be more precise, if two of them were to get the same score, the one who have a higher "highest placement" win (e.g. A highest placement was 1st and B highest placement was 2nd, then A would be placed on a higher rank). In the event of 2 person having both the same score and the same highest placement (like Towa and Suichan this year, the highest placement that both of them had was 1st), who have more highest placement win (Towa got 2 while Suichan got 1).
TLDR: Same point, compare highest placement. Same highest placement, compare the amount of highest placement.
In the event of a tie, the game gives it to who ever won the most 1st place finishes throughout the 6 races. Towa won 2 of 6, Suisei won 1, Miko, Bijou, Okayu won the other 3 races. If they tied for 1st place finishes then the game moves to who got the most 2nd places and so on.
It's a travesty on how they determined the winner. It simply doesn't make sense. Points are points. It's an absolute dumb rule & I'm surprised people are actually okay with that.
Each race matters. Towa won 2 races to Susie's 1, but she did worse in all the other races against Susie. Again, points are points.
They need to change it to where if there is a tie in the final, both of them will race against bots (on hard) together in a best out of 3 (or simply 1 race).
She got screwed big time. I would be pissed. This isn't like football or basketball, where the winner of two teams w/ the same record can be determined w/ the head to head season records as the tie breaker. Theres 12 teams in this case & it absolutely cannot be determined by that as they aren't racing head to head. There's 10 other teams (aka players in this case) in each race.
I actually thought they would be both crowned the winner after exiting out of the stream once I saw the points. An absolute travesty. I feel bad for Susie and I wasn't even rooting for her (Miko, who had some insane bad luck in the first 2 races).
Did you watch F1? The FIA rulebook clearly states that in the event two or more drivers share the same points, a countback system is used to determine who was placed ahead by counting who won more races or highest place finishes. NO REMATCHES!
So, yeah, the Hololive Mario Kart Cup uses the FIA countback system to break ties.
To quote Wikipedia: "In case of a tie, the FIA (in this case, the organizer) compares the number of times each driver has finished in each position. The championship goes to whichever had the greater number of wins; if they have the same number of wins, it goes to the driver with the greater number of second places, and so on."
Since Towa won 2 races to Suisei's 1, Towa is your new champion, whether you like it or not...and Suisei *_WAS A LOSER!_*
If anything, the only travesty here is if there is a tiebreaker race to determine a definite winner, which is clearly against the championship's regulations. Now the last thing you should do is to go and cry me a river--No--CRY US A RIVER...because it doesn't change the fact that Towa won the tiebreaker fair and square (Towa scored two wins to Suisei's one, so whoever gets more wins to get a tie, wins the tiebreaker).
You may feel like the scoring system is unjustified but we, hololive, and the Mario Kart team would totally disagree. Even the FIA would also disagree with how you feel about the scoring system.
Long story short: Complain all you want, it won't change Towa's victory and Suisei's defeat.
Even shorter than that, I'll give you just three letters: G-S-H. Get. Some. Help.

If Aqua join next year's race, it will be so dramatic for 3 of them. An old champion, a two time champion trying to retire with a bang, and a defending champion going against each other.

Don't forget about Okayu. Aqua (2019), Suisei (2021, 2023), Okayu (2022), Towa (2024). We need these 4 in a single race.
@@RejectHumanityReturn2Monke I mean my original comment said startend so yeah...
The fall from Suisei looked like she choked live, but in retrospect, it was pretty understandable.
She was hyper-avoiding that bomb out of fear it'd knock her down to fourth. Unfortunately, she ended up pinball'ing off the side railing and being knocked directly off the opposing ledge, resulting in basically the same result as hitting the bomb.
Legit if the side railing was simply *shaped* differently, such as a flat wall without the curve inward, Suisei's approach would've worked. It's hard to look at that and say she choked. She just got Mario Kart'ed by the level design.
Yeah, she was trying to avoid the bomb so hard she fell and while she actually only fell back a single place that was enough for her points to be tied with Towa where Towa having higher placements made her the winner.
I am glad Towa finally won in the tourney she has been organizing and hosting for 5 years but I would have been happier if Suisei had reached her goal of back to back championship followed by retirement with Towa winning the next tournament.
Still, if Suisei is still participating in Mario Kart next year this result might activate her competitiveness again and if she isn't too busy with music/concert/sponsorship stuff and she could practice harder and win her third championship next year. 3 wins in 6 competitions is also a decent place to retire at even if not as cool as consecutive wins.
stopping suisei from retiring is like stopping the apocalypse from happening 😂
Hoshiyomi :
we want Sui-chan to win, but we dont want her to retire...
TMT : I'll solve your problem
But the logic should have been like this:
1. If Suisei wins back-to-back, she will retire.
2. If Suisei doesn't win back-to-back, she will have to race again.
Since Suisei didn't win, she will have to race again next year.
Suisei foiled again by another purple haired girl
She make me cry 😢😢 im so happy because she won. it is a long time, i used to hope she win this tournament. I have followed her for 2 years and hoped she win. now, it doesn't dream.congratulations 🎉🎉🎉

I remember there was few times in past tournament that she's disconnected on few rounds that made her points plummeted. Same with mio iirc.
I'm happy for her too.
@@schokoladereee That's right, at that time I thought that if she hadn't lost connection maybe she would have won so I waited for the day she won

the insanity of that ending
The pressure getting to Suisei, forcing her to swerve from the bomb because if she hits it, it's over

banchou legit carrying the whole ReGLOSS on her back (because the other 4 are all in zako cup lmao)
If Suisei didn't evade (and fell) she will get hit by the 💣 anyway, which will possibly get her in a worse mood, so that's the best she can do.
GG Towa.
I was watching it live on my phone at the dining room with my family sit across me, when that last fall made me shout "AGH!!!" My parents said "what happened" i go "nothing" then the score came out then i shout again "WHAT?!!!" And they said "you've gone crazy..."
Suisei was a comfortable 3rd place and would have won but she took a gamble as she wasnt sure it it was enough and took a big risk. Everyone was amazing. ❤
First it was the bomb that Okayu used which ended up hurting her, allowing her to take first place, then Suisei tried to jump over the one Towa left, with these results, what a final race.

amazing tsuyo cup this year!
congrats to towa! and also i'm counting sui-chan for first too, they have the same points after all.
*edit* suisei didnt get hit by okayu she was trying to dodge and fell
Suisei got hit by okayu and fell down then hajime passed her in the final corner. Congratulations towa on winning 😂 suisei legacy has ended by both okayu in previous year and towa this year. Suisei might or might not come back because she still got 1st in day1 and 1st today even with tie breaker
I was a little bit sad to learn that Suisei will retire of the tournament. So seeing that it will not be the case thanks to Towa to be finally able to become the new champion, it's so amazing ! And she deserved it because she always was a good challenger when she had to organize all the tournament too. Congratulations, Towa-sama ! 🤩
Aqua wished to get 2 consecutive 1st place too but was stopped by Suisei.
so yeah it's a curse
What's the tiebreaker?
Countback system. Ties are broken based on who scored the most wins and/or the best finish. If the tied drivers share the same wins, the tie will be broken by who scored the most 2nd places. If the tied drivers share the same 2nd places, the tie will be broken again by who scored the most 3rd places. If the tied drivers share the same 3rd places, the tie will be broken again by who scored the most 4th places. This process repeats until we have a definite winner.
Thank You@@UltramanMebiusBrave
Did Pekora not play the finals?
she didnt make it by combined points rule
She failed to qualify as only the winners of each block and the top 6 of total scores for qualifiers and finals will advance to Winner's Cup and she place at 7th while Biboo advance instead at 6th.
@@arkweed777 Wow so that disconnect placing her 12th in one match really cost her. I wonder what her reaction was
@@valhallakombi7239 yep she's just 3 points lacking to qualify as Biboo's total score is 66 while Pekora at 63 also her 2 earlier races on D-Block was really unlucky on items or she kept getting mario karted especially those bombs which hit her hard twice.
As for her reaction she's says that it was unfortunate and thank her supporters.
Only the top 12 can enter the finals. Pekora was 13th, so she can't enter the Zako or Tsuyo Cups.
On one hand I am happy that Towa won, it is great that she finally got to become the champion in her own tournament.
On the other I am kinda said Suisei wasn't able to do what she wanted and leave the Mario Kart tourney on her own terms. A lot of people are happy that she'll be in the next race as well and I do get it. But personally I had thought what she said was that she would retire from the Mario Kart tournament either way and just wanted to do so with a consecutive win. A lot of comments, including JP ones as well as Holomember themselves instead talk about her not winning preventing her retirement so I guess I was under a misunderstanding. But still, as happy as I truly am for Towa, and as much as watching Suisei race is very enjoyable I can't help but feel very frustrated about Suisei not being able to win like she wanted. Especially with how close it was. One more point (or one less point from Towa) and she would have done it.
I really am glad about Towa thought, congratulations to her. And a great performance from Hajime as well.
2:53 FuwaMoco's got competition. Okayu being overjoyed for Towa's win was so wholesome.
Does Mario Kart have any kind of tie breaker? Or did Towa and Suisei tie since I saw they both had 1.
Only countbacks. Whoever wins more is crowned the champion. If two or more drivers share the same number of wins, we count who scored more 2nd place finishes. If they share the same number of 2nd place finishes, we count who scored more 3rd place finishes. If they share the same number of 3rd place finishes, we count who scored more 4th place finishes. If they share the same number of 4th place finishes, we count who scored more 5th place finishes. Repeat the process until we find their highest place finishes overall.
Mr Kiriku, I think the grammar in your video title is kind of a mess as it is right now.
I hope you don't mind if I point out the necessary corrections for the title to be correct.
"Towa, Suisei, Okayu and A-Chan Reaction" -> "Towa, Suisei, Okayu and A-Chan's Reaction". This way you indicate it's their reaction to the event.
"Towa Become" -> "Towa Became". Since it's an event that has already happened, the verb "become" should be in past tense.
And finally, you're missing the word "Champion" in "2024 Hololive New Year Cup", since she didn't become the cup itself.
the entire vid is riddled with grammar issues
haha it's funny reading it as non En speaker.
Honestly, I don't bother with the grammar anymore unless it's REALLY confusing or is that important to the clip. I've seen a few clippers stop clipping coz of comments complaining about the grammar, or even condemning them for missing a few punctuations. I'd rather have clips with slightly messy grammar than no clip at all. JP Clippers are hard enough to come by as it is nowadays... I was so happy to have found a Yozora Mel clipper, only to discover that they stopped a year ago. Bruh moment.
@@HudaefCares If they're some minor grammar mistakes, sure, it's not much of a problem. But in the case of this video's title there is a major grammar mistake that should be fixed.
Also, could you tell me which clippers have stopped clipping because of comments regarding grammar? I thought that a clipper's job was to provide an accurate translation and not something riddled with mistakes. After all, the community is big enough it shouldn't be hard to get someone to, at the very least, grammar check
@@PunkPimster I'm subbed to hundreds of clippers and have been watching Hololive for 3 years now, so forgive me if I don't remember names. I do remember one guy tho, KeiToKei. He honestly fcked up his grammar (or rather how he worded it... I don't remember what it was about but it was a Suisei clip) and within hours people were calling for him to take down the video, (fair) shxtting on him, (why tho) to calling him an anti in disguise. (which sucks coz while that DOES happen, he was just a newbie clipper) People avoided watching him coz of that, and eventually he stopped clipping.
If it helps, Kiriku is Indonesian. The ID bros clippers' grammar tends to be iffy. This channel has been around since before Myth debuted and they're not as popular as they used to be, (this channel clipped classic Hololive moments like the exact moment PekoMoona first greeted each other) so personally I just don't want them to be discouraged and stop clipping. I didn't notice any horribly wrong grammar so I'm frankly just 🤷♂️ about it.
I don't really wanna nitpick too much but it seems like there's a couple of overlooked errors here and there. Still, thanks for translating as always!
