Experience Lithuanian Armed Forces 105th Anniversary Celebration: Troops and Equipment Parade 2023

On November 23 the Lithuanian Armed Forces marks the 105th anniversary: the Lithuanian military fought the first battles for Lithuania’s independence just months after being re-established in 1918.
The celebration will take place on November 25: the parade of Lithuanian and NATO Allied military personnel and equipment on the Konstitucijos Avenue, Vilnius, will begin at mid-day. The Lithuanian Armed Forces’ birthday will also be marked with the Lithuanian Warrior Awards bestowed in recognition of selfless, noble deeds or risk-taking.
Over 1,400 Allied and Lithuanian servicemembers, including color guards of the British Armed Forces and the Canadian Armed Forces who lead the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Groups in Estonia and Latvia respectively and the NATO Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) Headquarters, will march down the Konstitucijos Avenue in the parade. Viewers will be able to see over 100 pieces of military equipment: Vilkas Infantry Fighting Vehicles of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers, NASAMS air defence system, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, Abrams main battle tanks, Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles and the Paladin self-propelled howitzers brought by the American Allies, Leopard tanks of the Bundeswehr, Puma and Marder Infantry Fighting Vehicles, and many others. Aircraft of the Lithuanian Air Force and the NATO Baltic Air Policing Mission Detachment will greet the audience with a flyby over the Konstitucijos Avenue. The celebration will culminate with a song “Kanonada” written as a gift to the Lithuanian Armed Forces by Marijonas Mikutavičius.
