- IMG Academy is the most prestigious program in high school sports history. They define themselves as "a preparatory boarding school and sports training destination in Bradenton, Florida" -- but they are so much more than that! IMG is home to some of the top athletes in the WORLD in football, baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, golf, volleyball and many more. Some of their most notable alumni are Serena and Venus Williams, Anfernee Simons, Dwight Powell, JJ McCarthy, KJ Osbourn, Bo Scarbrough, Kellen Mond and hundreds of others. Yes I live next door to this high school . The crazy thing about img kids is that they flood the local gym . And it's boogles my mind when they have a dream gym at their darn school.

Edit: I used to swim against some in FL and they were fast as fuck boiii lol. It’s kind of a loophole college recruitment facility if ya know what I mean. It costs more than college but hey if you go there then college is free and u might go pro.

Not a public school, and hella expensive tuition would be my guess.
Private HS. Close to $100K per year to attend.
It’s specifically for student athletes and generates about $80M in revenue per year.

What a coincidence I’m just at IMG right now for summer, and btw it is actually a highschool since the athletes that stay here for the school year do study in the Academic center

Really? It's a semi-private course that anyone can play. It's 18 hole fee is comparable to other public courses. IMG plays most of their golf at other private courses because the IMG course you are talking about isn't that good.
I’ve played AAU tournaments here and it legitimately feels the closest I’ll ever get to playing in college 😂 it’s insane
i’m literally in florida rn for the ga soccer tournament and my tourney is at those 16 soccer fields at img lol. me and my team met matthew moore at a chipotle! 😂
That's my home course. Used to be El Conquistador Country Club. IMG bought it. And before that they bought Nick Bollettieris Tennis academy. I went to school with 2 of his daughters. He was always nice and friendly to me.

It’s wild I live 3 min away from IMG. IMG is expanding their campuses every other month. They always have a bunch of construction going on in the back. IMG is massive, they even have their own golf course.
Right!! And every one coming to the Sarasota/bradenton area is all about IMG and so many of their kids are going there

I live in Sarasota (town next to where it’s located) and IMG is a whole culture here! But it produces some of the best athletes in the nation so there’s a level of appreciation toward it.

I live in Bradenton and it was originally Bollettieri Tennis Academy. As of 2023 it cost $85K per year to attend to start. Most students are foreign.

I went to a two day track meet at img they had a hotel in on campus and is was the nicest place I’ve ever stayed at

Yes it’s an intense Florida training academy but very few kids come out of there with successes. Many kids that study there are usually burnt out by the time they graduate due to the intensity of the training for sports. The academics are also not very good.

80 grand a year plus 30 k for food and lodging. I live less then a mile from the campus. They specialize in athletic training. If you make it to the professional level in sports like the nfl. They will be your sports agent. If you look at the nfl draft most top athletes will have spent time at img.
