SailGP is high speed, high tech and high impact. This global sports championship combines cutting-edge tech, iconic global venues, elite athletes and record-breaking speeds to create the most exciting racing on water. Rival teams from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada, France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Spain battle it out at iconic venues around the world in short, intense races for a total prize pot of $7 million. Teams compete in identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans that fly above the water at electrifying speeds approaching 100 km/h. Fan-centric and close-to-shore, each SailGP Championship culminates in a $2 million, three-boat, winner-takes-all Grand Final.

Many thanks to Larry Ellison who made this possible . For people who love competitive sailing, this is a great alternative to the America’s Cup, Olympics, etc.
Way better and more competitive compared to America's Cup.
Amazing video explaining all the positions and showing their gadgets. I enjoyed it a lot!!
Can’t wait for the 2025 Season to start 🙌
AWESOME!
Would have liked to have heard from the people interviewed how thrilling the race actually is compared to other boats they have sailed.
They have to get rid of the software that tells them the lay lines. That so lame and takes away one of the biggest strategic calls in a regatta
I tend to disagree. Because everyone has access to the same information it makes it still a test of strategy and skills.
@ what’s the test? Under that logic they should all have a computer tell them exactly how to steer the boat, adjust the foils, trim the sails….and you’d say because they all have the same information it’s a test of skills and strategy?
Guessing the lay line is one of the biggest strategic calls on the course. Everyone being told where it is removes this opportunity to make gains on someone that doesn’t have as good of skill to call the line
It’s about speed?
Just go watch any of the other racing competitions that don’t have that
I dunno, the layline to round a mark is the same for everyone at any given moment, individually each crew still have to use their own tactics to try get to and around that mark as fast as possible.
