- My name is Crawford and I’m a farmer.
Being a farmer is more than a job; it’s a way of life. The good days can involve bringing new life onto the farm or sunny days outdoors whilst on others it's dealing with machinery breakdowns and on the worst days, sometimes animal deaths.
Farming can be isolating at times - away from the busy streets and city life - so this platform brings you closer to the inner workings showing the highs and lows and everything in between.
I hope to bring some context to how the food ends up on your plate, from your Sunday roasts to morning porridge and even the tulips on your kitchen table. Hopefully a bit of agricultural education along the way.
This video captures the latest goings on including crop management and our efforts to increase sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

In regards to the welding spatter get yourself some anti spatter spray. Just spray on before you weld and hey presto!

My little bit on the new cattle shed -- straw blowers are great, however, there is a lot to be said for hand bedding the coos. When you are hand bedding, you are in amongst the cattle on a regular basis so they learn to not see you as a danger. This is a helpful when there is a cow who is birthing & having trouble or is lame. If you need to get in to help the cow, and you are alone, it will be easier if the cows are familiar with you. That being said, hand bedding does take more time than blowing.
Pros and cons
You did a great job of placing the cable from the cb right over your better half's face so we couldn't see her 🤣🤣. It reminds me of Wilson in Home Improvement years ago . That stone fork will be some weight sir when filled with concrete and steel. Oh and good win for us Irish yesterday can we do the slam the year do ya think 😁
If you can, get some old lead water pipe and put it in the box section of the stone picker. Perhaps put a tool box on the back to hold what you need.

Make sure you get the weld spatter out of the tine sleeves. I’m sure your welding will do a good job.

Sounds like my welding, always ends with “that’ll do, it’s not going anywhere, now where’s the spray paint” 😅😅
Don't worry about the splatter just get some anti splatter surface spray, you will struggle with a mig to get good penetration without some splatter, heat= penetration, the job you are doing you will want to be over 200amp, but remember with new steel you still need to buff it pre welding to get the mill scale of it, splatter is worse without clean metal.
Thats going to be a fair graip once shes finished you will need a 6 furrow plough to hold the back of the tractor down😀you will be a bit warmer in the old forklift now with the door fixed

How do you manage to hide gate lady face 👀 every time
Anti spatter spray will sort you out mate and your welds look good for an occasional welder.
Brush your work piece with anti splatter to lessen the mess 👍👍👍👍

To get a heavy infill we used spent metal shot, from a shot blasting/paint shop.

Can you fill the box section of ya stone grape (if that’s spelt right lol) with sand pal and also don’t take my word for it but if you spray your metal with water and washing up liquid it will reduce ya splatter or you can buy anti splatter spray that works a treat
