- It’s finally happening! Time to chip the free stall! Quite a hectic day got milking a little late but I think the girls will let it slide this once 😂 Let me know what you guys think of the finished result!! ❤️
Wow Taylor, thanks for those super kind words of praise! I always enjoy seeing you two and helping to get your equipment back out working.
Taylor I love your excitement of getting the rake, anything that helps out is a big deal. Your love of your work and the "girls" is contagious 😊
Thank you!! I am super excited to use it! So glad you think so 😀
Cute new calf Taylor
Good morning Taylor have a great day
They laid on the side with the sun. Warmer there
Good morning Taylor, As usual there never is a dull day on a farm. Your narratives make these videos informative and entertaining. I think the plan that Brent uses on your farm are great. Buying used equipment when you have to, maintaining what you have, and taking good care of your girls. Again thanks for a great video. You have a great attitude and smile.😉
The girls had to love the free stalls. Great job Taylor, keep the videos coming
They are loving the stalls now, took em long enough!😉 thanks for watching 😀
Is it just you and bret to work that farm? That's a lot of work for 2 people. I loved growing up working on my neibghors farm. Best time of my youth.
You're always such a busy girl and you really know what you're and that helps him because he doesn't have to explain everything that you do so keep up the good work has always
The free stall looks great!! I'm always amazed @ the variety of tasks that r done in a days time and the many skill sets a farmer has to have!
Hi Taylor, really glad to hear what is happening with you and Brent again, you are very multi-tasked and hard working. The calves are lovely, I really couldn't let them go. Be safe and careful, best wishes to you both 🐂🐃😊
That’s a real good looking calf, her pattern is awesome!
I know this is really late but you can easily build a hitch that will pull the fillet wheeled rake off of that rake. We built one from some angle iron and two pieces of round tube. Really speeds up raking hay for round bailing
Great video Taylor and Brent
Thank you! 😀
Hi Taylor! My wife and I truly enjoy and appreciate your videos. Keep it up! It would be nice to see your milking routine. Is that possible to record? Your relationship with your boss is great. We love you!
Hi, that’s so great to hear! Yes I was actually thinking just the other day that it’s been a while since we’ve done a milking video, so definitely something we’ll have to do soon! Y’all are awesome!!! 😃😊
GMC...Got ..Mechanic.. Coming !!!!!
Good day Taylor. Love your new addition. She is beautiful. As always, life on a farm is full of unexpected surprises. Love the idea of using sawdust chips for a base of bedding. Cows are single minded creatures when they want to be. Like using one side in the free stall and not the other. We used straw for bedding.
Weather is running about 70 degrees. Had a couple of 80 degree days this week. If anything, work is never a shortage around a farm. Good luck to you and Brent. Stay safe. Keep enjoying your work. God bless.
Wow sure is pretty calf
Such a cute calf. So unique.
You need a V rake then you make jest 1 pass . your wood chips look good ... I have 150 beef cows and I use corn stalk bales in my cow barns and there easyer to clean up ... I like your videos .. Have a blessed Sunday ...
That would make for quick work! We were very interested in the corn stalk baling a few years back but almost no one does that in our area. So cool to hear how it works. Thanks so much for commenting!
Please tell us that you are keeping cocoa! She's so pretty!
Awesome job nothing like having fun hahahaha
Rake looks pretty good
We had a patz barn cleaner. When it worked it worked great but man if something hung up it was a mess.
Cows look really happy, your weather looks great. We are supposed to get 6-12 inches of snow today should be the last of the year. Did you see the sad news about the dairy in Texas that lost 18,000 dairy cows in an explosion? There has been so many fires and accidents at food production places lately, just sad. Hope you guys stay safe and healthy.
Hi! Ugh so sorry to hear about the late snow storm! I did see that fire in Texas, very sad and strange. Thanks so much for commenting and watching!😀
good morning😀 how are u? u work busy busy busy lol u AWESOME love the video 😀😊🚜🚜🚜
Hi! I’m great and you? Yes always busy on the farm 😀 so glad you enjoy watching!!
good😀👍
Curious & funny cows! Taylor, I would not have guessed those stalls needed that large truckload of wood chips! Have a great week…
They are pretty crazy! It was certainly in need of some bedding!! Thanks so much you have a wonderful week as well 😀
@@tayfarms Taylor, it’s great to see Brent (or is it Brett?) interacting with the camera more and more. He is a hard worker and I am sure your camera brings a little distraction to what can be a stressful day! Goodnight.
Every old time stall farmer I know has that limp.
Those were sun nice looking wood chips. I’m jealous lol. I’ve been fixing up stalls at my part time job down the road from you guys. How do you keep the cows from eating wood? Every time I fix something then come back a week later and they have eaten half of what I fixed. I think there trying to eat there way free. Great video.
How'd Miss Taylor!!! I pray you are having a wonderful Sunday!!! Sunny and 74 degrees here in Virginia. I really enjoy the warm weather, but as you well know it makes for busier times !! Thankfully a lot of the upcoming work can be done from the seat of a tractor !! Please be safe and God bless you all !!!! Eddy
Hiya Tay,
Thank you for another great video. A lot is happening; that new calf is adorable, and those bean markings are unique. But not coffee beans? You just knew I'd get that in somewhere, didn't you? You work so hard; well, you both do; it's lovely to see a farm reusing older equipment; making it work and last is perfect. Too much is tossed aside with people insisting on the latest bit of kit, but only in the right colour; sad. I loved Brent's "Well, they're round." When referring to the tyres. So much can and should be saved and reused.
Typical of the cows to use the wrong side. Well, they think it's the right side, and there are more of them. You do know how cruel you are being, don't you? All that work by the bull and some of his ladies on an escape tunnel, and you two go and fill it in without a second thought to how the escape committee would feel. Sad and cruel...
Stay safe, Steve...
Thanks for all the work!
Our pleasure!! Thank YOU for all your support!!!😀
Great video Taylor.
Thank you 😊
Zebra faced calf is really cute. Another way we kept sprockets and gears from moving was to remove the set screw.
drill an indent into the shaft then the set screw locks into the indent then the sprocket will not move.
If you have trouble with set screws or bolts loosening use blue Loctite on them.
Happy raking this summer.
That’s a great tip! Thank you! 😀
Loved this vlog!
Glad you liked it!! Thank you 😀
Awesome video Taylor. You really rock young lady please keep it up. God bless pat Brazil ireland 🇮🇪 🙏. ❤

Good evening, another busy but good day I see. Great video as always.😊
Yes, thank you!
@@tayfarms your welcome always dear 😊
Happy Sunday Tay, hope you're having a wonderful weekend, always busy and exciting things on the farm. Hiya Brent
Hi!! We had a great weekend! Hope you did as well!
Happy Sunday Taylor. Would be fun for April and Coco to be in the larger pen so they could play together. Hopefully you can find time to secure it for them. The open pen area looks so comfy now. Thanks for sharing with us. Take care, Deb
Hi, yes! I absolutely hope to get them in the big pen this week coming so they can stretch their little legs😊 The girls are coming around to using the stalls now and they do look so comfy!! Thank you hope your week goes great!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Looks like a 640 or 660 rake. Had a few over the years, take care of the bearings it'll last. The rake bars have bearings on the ends that connect to the disks on each end. Those bearings are crazy expensive or not available, pretty sure I got some from Eastern Automation in Westbrook that would match up exactly for a lot less money. Keep those nuts tight where the bars attach to the discs and watch the bearings.
Your a beautiful lady doing a fantastic job x
love the calves,, rake looks pretty nice, stalls look comfortable!!!!
Thank you!
So, why don't you have your welder make you a bracket so you can tandem the rakes, that will give you twice the reach! One rake off set of the other, hooked together! Bedding looks great!
We have been looking into that, it would be so much faster and save fuel! Thanks so much for commenting!
Wow, what a nice calf. Are you keeping Coco? The face is one in a million. Great video.
She is a lil cutie! We are definitely raising her😀
Love the video
I’m glad!!
👍
Good day do brint have tank washer for that tank I love wach your videos keep up good work
How much does a load of chips cost? Just curious if you don't mind .
the freestalls seem be not really be utilized . were they built when replacements were being raise ? or were there more milking cows at one time?
Hi, both actually 😀 there used to be a divider down the middle with extra milk cows on one side and replacement heifers on the other.
Why don't you make a tandem hitch so you can put both rakes together and that would cut down on fuel and trips across the field
I actually have a new holland hitch that I towed my jd rolla bar rakes with. I'd part with it. Forgot I even had it.
How many more normande calves will there be?
Just a handful.
Great video Tay! So Brett gets a "new" rake with good rubber on it, but you have to use the old rake without any wheels at all. Is your rake a Massey or a Case-IH? 😀You are so right about "procrastination doesn't work on a farm!" You should put that on a tee-shirt or a hat, or needlepoint it into a pillow. The girls were enjoying the sun on the other side of the free stalls!
👍🐄👍🐂👍🐄👍🐂👍
When you gonna spread manure?
Are you married?
