Of course we can't know your knowledge of music and vocalization, and opinions or preferences are mostly valid. With that said, Kelly Clarkson is widely considered one of the best musical talents and vocalists out there. I'm not just talking about her fans but most other artists and voice teachers acknowledge and express she's (especially now) one of the most versatile, well rounded and trained vocalists in the industry. Her upper register, head and falsetto have improved incredibly over the years and many of her performances have been described as "near flawless" by other singers, musicians and vocal coaches. You don't like her and that's perfectly okay.
I personally would say more effortless.... like, in the past, she sounded and looked strained, but after the time skip, it looks as if she could sing that upon waking up in the morning, if you get my gist 😅
@@doctorits i feel like she got over the emotion and sings without emotion now. yeas its cleaner but the emotional tone for me is way better. im sure she can do that sound still but she must go back in the feel and that can be hard.
@@Quizzy0000 what is being perceived as emotion is actually just physical strain and, if done too often, damages your voice. What she's doing now is infinitely healthier ❤️
You can see the strain when she was younger there's no strain now. She was singing a heart song on a karaoke a while back Carrie Underwood had also covered the same song Carrie strains to the point that veins are popping out Kelly was walking around singing and hit the same notes effortlessly. She's just gotten better which is very rare because most people destroy their voices as they age.
Your voice matures overtime. Most people’s vocal chords don’t finish growing and stabilizing until late teens and earily 20s. So, they don’t really fully come into their voice until their 20s. However, your voice can still change in your 30s and many people notice differences over time especially singers. In the first clip Kelly was only 21. Now as a 41 year old her voice is fully developed. Plus I’m sure she has taken lessons over the years to improve her technique and just plain old experience is worth a lot
wisedom on how to sing notes she sounded more emotional and real in 2003. singing emotional lines very clean sounds very weird to me. like someone pretending to like you while you know they hate you.
Yes Queen Kelly!!!! She has definitely matured vocally. And the fact she hit such a high note while seated...shows how she has grown in her technique. She hit that note spot on...no scopping to it or wavering. Sing Kelly!!!! ❤️
She is spoken about how she has constantly worked on her voice as she's aged and that her higher register and then on the other side her very low register have gotten way more rich and her breathing control is better. And her range kicks butt and no she does not scream. But the now version is amazing apparently she's talking about doing an album of redos of some of her songs. Kind of to match adult feelings.
As you age you also just feel so much more emotionally especially after kids. It makes you better at emoting whatever you sing. You equate songs w your own experiences so the older you get the better you get at it
I always see so many singers hitting notes that they hit when they were younger, but as they get older, they kind of lose their touch. So, I love that she got even better, yet. Still both times were absolutely incredible. Kelly Clarkson is amazing
You can hear all the work she’s done over the years in improving her voice. She was so frickin talented naturally and now she’s just completely unmatchable
Right? In the 2003's part of the video she just sounds tired, sounds like her vocal chords had overworked. However, in 2023's part of video she is visibly more relaxed, her vocal chords doesn't sound like are about to break and, obviously, the experience gained throughout those 20 years of singing....
she really was! she was touring like crazy and really lost her voice in the 2003 era. she inherited a "raspy" tone after Idol. I'm so glad she's back to her roots.
I love Kelly... I love just about all her music.... 'low' is my absolute favorite, of any and all of her many songs... What can I say? No explanation as to why a single song can resonate on the deepest level.
The recent clip, imo, clearly demonstrates the level of experience and maturation her vocal talents have gained. Accomplishing the same note and pitch without the same intensity on her vocal cords. Less scream and more control. The person who said she has no control in her upper range is sniffing too much glue. She is top 10, if not top 5 singer’s all time, SPECIFICALLY known for her pipes and huuuuuge range. Look it up
In the second clip she prepared her vocal chords better than the first by hitting that "so-" note higher and longer. The first clip is like she just aburptly went for it but her muscles werent ready and the 2nd she kinda guided herself to it
I think this video shows incredible talent, commitment, dedication, years of training, practice, coaching, passion, emotion, pain, and most of all, love. All you haters go to another page. She is beyond phenomenal
She's grown soo much! She's done exactly what we all wish for great new talents with amazing potential: put the work, the passion, the love, all while being true to herself, and become a phenomenal artist, that wows us every single time!
If you think about it, she won Idol, went on the Idol tour, acted in a movie, recorded the soundtrack, wrote and recorded her debut album, promotion, TV, awards shows etc all within a 6 month period.
You can tell her voice has matured over the years, meaning it is rich and warm now. That high note is more of a struggle now, but she handles it gracefully with control.
She has no control of her upper range, shes too much of a screamer 🇬🇧.
funny joke 😂😂
@@doctorits she's never been easy on the ear at all 🇬🇧
@@steveheckle8847 you don’t know ANYTHING about vocals OMGGGG
😂😂😂😂😂 Yeaaaaa okayyyyy she is 1 of THEEEEE BEST OUT HERE RIGHT NOW

I love the rasp from 03 though.
More open, controlled, ressonance, amazing evolution.

so much more relaxed less strained, probably a lower larynx and higher position in the head with the note too
Wow has she grown as a singer. Mastery and control of her instrument

The evolution is phenomenal! Love everything about this woman!

It looks so much more effortless for her now than it did in the 2003 footage. The vibrato is beautiful too!

Her control in 2023 is so strong and clear. Love her.
She has continued to work on her craft, love her
A voice that improved with obvious care and skill development. That’s a person grateful for their instrument.
She's always been incredible but now she's even better!
With age comes wisdom. She is able to control her voice so much more now.

She sound even better, nothing like practice to make perfection
She is much more controlled now. You can tell the difference in growth over the years.
Her voice is just spectacular🎉

I would love that. Imagine a rerelease of You Thought Wrong with Tamyra Gray? I’d die.
She doesn't scream any longer, but her younger voice, the rasp you hear is from too much strain. She learned how to avoid that damage.
Absolutely love this lady.
I loved both versions first sounded more raspy while the 2023 she was clean and controlled like the legend she is
So much more controlled and a far clearer tone in the current video! WOW this woman is incredible!
I swear she just gets better and better.
What a doll. She's coming into her own now. She's worked hard and now she reaps the benefits.

wow the growth! she’s so great
Kelly is so amazing.she shows emotions through the way she sings.some people do facial expressions,Kelly does it with the way she sings the song
Even 20 years ago she was hitting that note! It’s just so effortless for her and the growth is beautiful to see ❤
Good grief!! She's SO good!
You can tell she's worked with a vocal coach. More open and controlled. Most importantly, it doesn't sound like she's hurting her vocal chords. 👏👏👏
Sounds even better today- you go girl!!
The fact that she's sitting down in the latter, and still hits the same note is amazing! I love this woman, not in a weird way just love y'all 🤟

yea it did but the emotion faded from the song. sometimes you dont want prefect technique.

She did even better 20 years later still amazing an voice vocal dedication great job 👏
Well heck to da yeah! She's even better 20 years later. Her control in 2003 compared to this year 2023 is much better. And her notes are flawless.
