NF has made an entire story through every song he's ever made. Each part is a piece of the next chapter and Hope is a new chapter in the book of Nate. God does so much through that man and it's incredible to see how he's finding the hope of God in his life and how God uses Nate to reach his audience. As many others have said.... Do the NF journey, you won't regret it.

@@Aerie40 The NF journey is going through his music from earliest to present. Each song has a purpose and it's another layer he adds to get to where he is now. He's an incredible story teller. His music evolves like he does as a person and just gets better and better as you listen.

@@Aerie40 NF started out dealing with a drug-addicted eventually suicidal mother and a (reportedly alcoholic) father who divorced, then placed him with his grandparents while his father raised a new family. He felt rejected, abandoned, worthless and self-loathing. He was lucky to be involved in church groups that provided emotional support and guidance (not all do). He also took to heart his mother's pill addiction and has steadfastly avoided them, even avoiding a number of prescribed drugs lest he be pulled into that maelstrom. He took to music to express his feelings, modelling particularly on Eminem (he acknowledges this, and calls Eminem his biggest influence). He has been working through all these negative emotions and attitudes in his music, taking his fans along on the emotional journey. The new album, Hope, shows an awful lot of progress in addressing the issues. I have seen lists of key tracks in order for people to follow the journey. I am pretty much a beginner, but I would recommend going to How Could You Leave Us and then comparing it to the new track Mama. One thing to note: Nate is a rapper and singer and he is a Chrostian, but he is not a 'Christian rapper' in that he does not do worship songs, praise songs, etc. though he often addresses God and speaks openly about God. His songs show his emotional life and that includes his Christian faith. 'Happy' is essentially a prayer, and Mama is him talking to his mother in the afterlife.

I'm so grateful to my parents for recognizing issues in their upbringing and focusing on changing how they raised me. They ended a cycle of mental and physical abuse that went back generations. Were they perfect parents? No, they are human and we all make mistakes. But as I get older and learn about what they experienced as kids, it breaks my heart and fills me with gratitude for the upbringing I received.

Thank you, Dr. Anna, for your reaction to Hope today. NF's slogan is Real Music; he creates music that is REAL, filled with emotion, and makes listeners self-reflect. He's been blessed with the gift to lyrically pull at the emotional strings of his audience's hearts. We may not relate to every song he creates, but there is certainly a song for everyone. His music relates and aligns well with the theme of your channel. I highly recommend that you go back, listen to his music in order, and enjoy the NF journey, as there's much imagery and symbolism embedded in his work. (at some point, a fan will list references in this song that tie back to previous pieces). His music is family-friendly, and he doesn't curse. You listened to one song and became emotional during the final transition; forewarning, you will experience this again, it's just part of the experience. It's honestly part of what makes NF's music beautiful.
Suggestion: I would, and I am sure other subscribers or fans of yours would enjoy this. If possible, could you go back and react to some of his music? Certain songs tie to specific or a few emotions, and it would be really cool if you followed up and educated your community on how the mind plays a part in emotions. How do we feel what we feel, or how do certain emotions impact our rationalism? I know nothing about your field, but I'm sure you can create exciting/interesting content.

Ren and NF are having a profound impact on so many who are desperate to silence the loud voice of the Shadow so they can hear the still, small voice of reason within. On my own coming of age heroes journey, I have learned there is nothing to forgive and nothing to heal for each experience was to teach and now I can help others come to peace within. I see trauma so differently now for it is such an amazing teacher. The generational trauma ends with awareness that only comes when we go within. What an amazing sojourn through this perceived realm... Shalom to you and yours in these pivotal times.

It takes so much genuine authenticity to openly admit who you are regardless of what anyone else might say or feel. Following your heart and it's exactly what NF sang

NF captures how it's feels to be depressed better than almost anybody ever has. At a Kurt Cobain level. People who don't live with suicidal depression will never understand even if they're understanding people. Somebody suffering with depression that's on the next level and this artist gets it and it makes me feel better when I listen to him

Ren is another artist who picks up on the internal struggle with the mind. The song is called Hi Ren. Also, a lot of NF's music touches on his struggles throughout his life.

Sometimes the words of others, remixxed or stolen from I know not where...is just better than what I could ever say.
"Be who you need to be, yet never forget who you are" - Black Thought(?), kinda recent. He did a sort of slam poetry type performence without any sound. Only history video clips.
I feel like I have heard that idea before, yet that is my most recent memory of the concept in a single sentence.

Light is brightest just before the dawn.
The reason for that metaphorical aphorism is that we, as human beings, become accustomed to the lack of light during nightime. And especially if without fire.
Spend one moonless night in the world, and when that sun rises, yet just before it peaks over the horizon...you will infact see the perception of some of the brightest light possible.
Also, the idea is still just a metaphor. Don't stare into the sun.

Like others are saying, please explore NFs metaphors. Everything in this video (visual, verbal) are tied into a web of metaphor, black-white, fear-hope, journey-map, the house of his own mind's torments, the song playing when he's dumped into the mansion here in this video, the prison. You might be overwhelmed, honestly.

"mom I forgive you"...that is so insanely powerful knowing Nate. Check out his song 'How could you leave us' and you get a glimpse of who he is.

Hey , i Really enjoyed your Reaction. You'r the first one who really felt his Music and Lyrics. I just dont know why People are so hatred against each other, besides so much People feeling like he is singing. Like you said when having Kids you realize or deny your True self. I went to 30 Year 's of hope and now i lost it. When you try to be positive and not giving up. After every Smile comes a Punch in the Face. (Stand up go on. Live i tough. There Coming better times.) Yeah it is and Yeah there was better times but at the End of each Part. It ends with Rock Bottom. Every Build ups I made getting Crushed to the Ground. I Pray 4 better Days. To all People around the World. That Someday everybody understands. We are not Born to Crime, racism, Hate. You can Not be a Friend with everyone in this World. But altleast you can Respect his Life and decisions, unless they are not negative Ruin your Life. Before you talk about other People's Life looks at your own without the Blue Sky Glasses on.
(Maybe they just Scared about there trueself)
    Peace out ✌

its actually amazing that you react and give valuable insight and relatable concepts to apply to our lives and our psyches. But one thing needs to be amended, there is no such thing as rock bottom, cause you can always go lower. Always. Rock bottom is a comfort description allowing everyone to believe once you hit a few snags or go through a really hard time, you can make it back up, but there is no such thing as the bottom, because pain, anguish, suffering, trauma, misgivings and all the bad stuff we can think of to describe negatively altering events, they are all bottomless pits, they can continue to go on forever and ever. ROCK BOTTOM DOES NOT EXIST. ITS A LIE AND MYTH. What the key is figuring out how to climb out of the pit or stop yourself from falling, or letting someone else help you.
