I believe that both Dutch and Indonesian have undergone orthographic changes and this is in pursuit of becoming more shallow. Yep some new word concepts thank you so much.
French is very easy to read, though; the pronunciation almost consistently follows the rules - almost, because there are exceptions (of course!)
although, in Spanish both and represent the same sounds, either [b] or [β] based on the phonetic environment
