Hey, I've got a problem with changing the uniform (ID) of male students. I've tried rearranging the lines of textures inside the code, changing their shoes, changing the sequence of 'SetStudentBodyTexture' with 'SetStudentFaceTexture' and 'OpenTexture:TextureOfUniform.png' as well. I've been paranoid trying to catch every single detail as to where the problem comes from and the same thing happens. The textures don't seem to apply to another uniform ID on the 'SetUniform:ID' command unless the uniform is the default one (which is ID=1). And yes, I've also put the 'SetUniform' command under the texturing commands, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. The game doesn't read the set textures at all if the Uniform ID of male students is not the default. I cant find any information online. If you can help I would be very glad!

2 years later and I still go to this for the most basic commands I often forget (most of the basic ones stayed the same, but obviously some of them are gonna be outdated). It was really helpful when I was first starting out!

For everyone confused about the hair, as in the hair not going on Ayano.. When you put all the things that you need to, on the top left corner, go to file and press 'save as...' and then replace your original "Cutscene" Document with your updated one (the one you are saving). Basically, you have to save it in order for it to work lol.
@El Roma Look in the description, WulfyRoxas has placed a link to texture storage, from there navigate your way to the hair textures you want. If you want them high quality you're going to want to download them in bigger sizes because of stuff to do with colour depth.
@@leia497 Without being able to see your code myself I can't really help you. However, try checking your commands again, make sure it matches what WulfyRoxas puts in the video, for example your spelling and spaces. If it's for Senpai make sure he's classed as: Student_1 (Taro Yamada) And not Senpai, as Senpai isn't his name. Check the file format of your texture, when you apply the texture make sure it's classed as 'TEXTURENAME.png' not just 'TEXTURENAME'. For the folder make sure at the end of the applying texture command put the name of your folder, forward slash, then the name of your texture. This will tell the commands to look within that subfolder for the texture. If it's in the Streaming Assets folder leave it blank and just put the texture name. Make sure you have the right commands to begin with and you're running the commands again everytime you make an edit. If it's still not working maybe paste your commands here and I'll have a scroll through. I'm a beginner modder and I highly doubt you should be asking me for help though.

Actually an easier way to find the refname of something is going to the Texture Storage and going to refnames, this way you can find the refname and make sure it's what your looking for! Great Tutorial btw, it helped me!
1:12:15 For the newer version of posemod(Posemod3), dont put YanSetAnimLoop:ANIM:1. it doesnt do anything, instead do YanSetAnimLoop:ANIM:true, since it's a bool, you need to put true/false edit: if its an animation that generally loops and doesnt stop, you dont need to put YanSetAnimLoop. if it DOES however stop, like the acting one Wulfy does or f02_phoneText_00, you do need YanSetAnimLoop.

its already outdated but mutch of scripts what is here still works like for custom student hairs, routines, animations, faces and body textures btw the full changing profiles you can do in JSON where is students like a crush persona and info you didnt need for that pose mode so if it didnt work now just use JSON.
I appreciate that this video is helping so much of the community, but sometimes I grow incredibly weary of some folk's inability to follow simple instructions.. Hopefully this video doesn't blow up too big. 😅
Oh my god! Thank you so much. All tutorials I've seen don't seem to work. You explain everything with visual examples and explain it so well. We all appreciate the effort you put into this!
Helpful tip here that I figured out myself as I was following the tutorial. If you want to change the skin colour of Yandere Chan, use the uniform mesh and use mesh 1. Mesh 1 is used for the skin types. I was able to make Yandere Chan have pale skin because of this. You need to have a body texture from the textures wiki and then once edited, save it as CustomBody or whatever you like. Then you type this line of code. OpenTexture:MyTextures/CustomBody.png Texture3:1:YandereChan Make sure you put the command with the mesh 1 before setting the uniform and don't set it to 0. That will cause the body to have weird colours such as if you wanted a turquoise uniform, and you set the mesh to 0, you will have turquoise skin instead. So 0 is for the uniform overall, 1 is for the skin types and 2 is for the face. I hope this helped if you wanted to do skin types.
The uniform mesh and skin mesh each read their UVs from separate parts of one texture. You use the same texture file for 0 and 1, so setting the texture to 0 will not give you "weird colors" turquoise skin, it will make the uniform texture match the uniform textures from the texture you are using.
If your game is doing anything other, and applying a texture to mesh 0 is somehow giving you "weird colors" or is effecting your skin when, the skin UV isnt even part of mesh 0, then you are either using a bundled female model with merged meshes, or you are using the wrong texture for that uniform

Basically I was trying to make Yandere Chan have paler skin as I was making my OC so I tried to figure it out myself how to do so. You activate the child object on Ayano, duplicate it, DeliStudHair the duplicate, then deactivate that child object. Rinse and repeat for the second hairstyle ^^
I'm just happy to see folks learning and making their own textures ^^ It's a lot nicer than seeing weird solid-color variants of her hair I've seen out there, or commands that just change the RGB values and make it look odd.
Everything was PERFECT for me! No .... At first it was not possible to put on custom clothes on Osana, it turned out on Ayano ... I continued further (followed strictly the tutorial) with another Osana hair color: ok, turned on photoshop, dyed it - everything is PERFECT !! I dealt with the team, saved the cutscene, and went into the game ... Launching ... Hair on Ayano is gone! Osana's hair was dyed .. Nice .. But Ayano's hair was Osana ... They were gone, but they were! They became transparent! .. I thought .. (what am I doing wrong? ....) I started the cutscene again ... The clothes got bagged down! The suit has gone completely white! As a result, nothing worked for me ... And almost a tear flowed ... All three hours in vain .........

Pose Mode is part of the game. It's activated in the Easter Egg menu with the R key. If you meant Pose Mod, the entire beginning of this video is an installation tutorial.
@@niconicot1ne Make sure you're pressing the forward slash '/' not the backwards one '\' The forward slash is easter eggs, which is where pose mode is contained, whilst the backwards slash is the debug menu.
Sounds like you may have changed the wrong destinationspot, typed an invalid location spot, or gave her an action that didn't exist. Might wanna double check your cutscene one piece of the command at a time
Maybe try turning down your quality? Sometimes when I am loading mods i have to lower my quality for it to load, or maybe make sure your using the new pose mod for new builds and old pose mod for old builds

If I'm not mistaken, you may also use HairToYan2:REFNAME:NEWNAME It's a great command for setting hairstyles on the player and I thiiiiiink it can use hairstyles from both time periods since they're part of StudentChan anyways.

The textures aren’t working for me, it just made my hair completely black It says “Line ‘8’ ERROR: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Okay I actually got a brain and fixed it
If your textures are showing up as black in the game, it means that the command was typed incorrectly. Either the command itself, or the file name or path name of the image you referenced. Double check the spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
I checked and tried multiple times and it doesn’t work The image is in YandereSimulator_Data>StreamingAssets>My Textures and it’s called “CustomOsanaHair” so I typed RenameRefChild:Student_11 (Osana Najimi):OsanaHair:CustomOsanaHair OpenTexture:MyTextures/CustomOsanaHair Texture3:0:CustomOsanaHair Texture3:0:PlayerHair
So I tried setting student's hairstyles on Ayano (8:44 - 12:36) but it didn't work at first, then I realized that the ref name of Ayano's hair has changed so the it couldn't find "PlayerHair", I looked for the new ref name and truns out that now you have to put "NewAyanoHair" instead of "PlayerHair" now. (to the people who are watching this a bit late and are confused as I was) :)
Sorry bout that, my old comments were typed when I was half asleep LOL. In the video, the refname ended up being "PlayerHair" because that's what I named it to for convenience, although you're able to rename it back to it's original refname when you need it to be (or at the end of the cutscenes) But the new hair model I believe does have a new ref name too, so your point is definitely a good one

Some of the methods in this tutorial are a little bit outdated, but yes PoseMod still works perfectly the same in 80s mode! Ryoba's refname is still YandereChan, so everything you can do/change for anyone in 202X you can also do in 80s mode
Don't worry about whether or not you make similar content at all! Everyone's learning the same things when it comes to PoseMod and nothing's wrong with showing what you've learned! ^^

Alternatively if you're already inside the text file you made, you can just press save, or just press CTRL + S to save it.

Actually an easier way to find the refname of something is going to the Texture Storage and going to refnames, this way you can find the refname and make sure it's what your looking for! Great Tutorial btw, it helped me!

For the newer version of posemod(Posemod3), dont put YanSetAnimLoop:ANIM:1. it doesnt do anything, instead do YanSetAnimLoop:ANIM:true, since it's a bool, you need to put true/false
edit: if its an animation that generally loops and doesnt stop, you dont need to put YanSetAnimLoop. if it DOES however stop, like the acting one Wulfy does or f02_phoneText_00, you do need YanSetAnimLoop.

Helpful tip here that I figured out myself as I was following the tutorial.
If you want to change the skin colour of Yandere Chan, use the uniform mesh and use mesh 1. Mesh 1 is used for the skin types.
I was able to make Yandere Chan have pale skin because of this.
You need to have a body texture from the textures wiki and then once edited, save it as CustomBody or whatever you like. Then you type this line of code.
OpenTexture:MyTextures/CustomBody.png
Texture3:1:YandereChan
Make sure you put the command with the mesh 1 before setting the uniform and don't set it to 0. That will cause the body to have weird colours such as if you wanted a turquoise uniform, and you set the mesh to 0, you will have turquoise skin instead.
So 0 is for the uniform overall, 1 is for the skin types and 2 is for the face.
I hope this helped if you wanted to do skin types.
The uniform mesh and skin mesh each read their UVs from separate parts of one texture. You use the same texture file for 0 and 1, so setting the texture to 0 will not give you "weird colors" turquoise skin, it will make the uniform texture match the uniform textures from the texture you are using.
If your game is doing anything other, and applying a texture to mesh 0 is somehow giving you "weird colors" or is effecting your skin when, the skin UV isnt even part of mesh 0, then you are either using a bundled female model with merged meshes, or you are using the wrong texture for that uniform
Either way, this is explained in the video already, so this tip doesn't change anything >.>

If anyone is having trouble putting hairstyles on Ayano, you have to save the file before running the cutscene in YS
when i tried to get Osanas hair on Ayano, i did all of the steps and saved it. when i ran the cutscene, Ayano was bald with no hair at all.

You activate the child object on Ayano, duplicate it, DeliStudHair the duplicate, then deactivate that child object. Rinse and repeat for the second hairstyle ^^
Maybe try naming both of the hairs different hair names?- Sometimes people forget to do that

Everything was PERFECT for me! No .... At first it was not possible to put on custom clothes on Osana, it turned out on Ayano ... I continued further (followed strictly the tutorial) with another Osana hair color: ok, turned on photoshop, dyed it - everything is PERFECT !! I dealt with the team, saved the cutscene, and went into the game ... Launching ... Hair on Ayano is gone! Osana's hair was dyed .. Nice .. But Ayano's hair was Osana ... They were gone, but they were! They became transparent! .. I thought .. (what am I doing wrong? ....) I started the cutscene again ... The clothes got bagged down! The suit has gone completely white! Pose Mode is part of the game. It's activated in the Easter Egg menu with the R key.

The forward slash is easter eggs, which is where pose mode is contained, whilst the backwards slash is the debug menu.
whenever i tried to do the custom routine for kuu dere, after she would change her shoes she would just start spinning in circles :-:
Sounds like you may have changed the wrong destinationspot, typed an invalid location spot, or gave her an action that didn't exist. Might wanna double check your cutscene one piece of the command at a time
your lucky you could set up her routine, kuu dere wouldn't do her morning routine which i hate-

It's a great command for setting hairstyles on the player and I thiiiiiink it can use hairstyles from both time periods since they're part of StudentChan anyways.

If your textures are showing up as black in the game, it means that the command was typed incorrectly. Either the command itself, or the file name or path name of the image you referenced. Double check the spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
I checked and tried multiple times and it doesn’t work
The image is in YandereSimulator_Data>StreamingAssets>My Textures and it’s called “CustomOsanaHair” so I typed

The command is OpenTexture, not OpenTextures.
So I tried setting student's hairstyles on Ayano (8:44 - 12:36) but it didn't work at first, then I realized that the ref name of Ayano's hair has changed so the it couldn't find "PlayerHair", I looked for the new ref name and truns out that now you have to put "NewAyanoHair" instead of "PlayerHair" now. (to the people who are watching this a bit late and are confused as I was) :)
Sorry bout that, my old comments were typed when I was half asleep LOL.
In the video, the refname ended up being "PlayerHair" because that's what I named it to for convenience, although you're able to rename it back to it's original refname when you need it to be (or at the end of the cutscenes)
But the new hair model I believe does have a new ref name too, so your point is definitely a good one

Some of the methods in this tutorial are a little bit outdated, but yes PoseMod still works perfectly the same in 80s mode! Ryoba's refname is still YandereChan, so everything you can do/change for anyone in 202X you can also do in 80s mode
