ඒ වෛද්‍ය වරයාට සැත්කම කරපු දවසෙම අත් වැරැද්ද ගැන දැනුම් දෙන්න යුතු කමක් තිබුනා . ඒත් වසන් කරන්නට තරම් හේතුවක් තිබිය යුතුයි. වකුගඩුව ඉවත් කිරිමට පෙර ස්කෑන් පරීක්ෂණ වලට රෝගියා භාජනය වෙනවා. එසේ නම් වකුගඩු එකට ඇලී ඇත්නමි පරික්ෂණ වලදී එය වෛද්‍ය වාර්තා වල සඳහන් විය යුතූයි. සැත්කමට පෙර එම වාර්තා කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ට හෝ දෙමව්පියන් ට ඉදිරිපත් නොකලේ ඇයි. මේක සැලසුම් සහගතව කල අපරාධයක් බව ඔප්පු වෙනවා. නීරෝගී වකුගඩුවට කුමක්ද සිදු වුණේ. සමහර විට වකුගඩු ජාවාරමක් මෙහි සිදු වූවාද යන්න පිළිබඳව ගැටළුවක් මතුවිය හැකිය. මුළු පවුලටම රට අත හැර යන්නට තරම් සැග වුන රහසක් යටපත් කර ඇති බව හැගෙනවා. එක වෛද්‍ය වරයෙකු ට පමණක් මෙවැනි සැත්කමක් කිරීමට නොහැකි යි එසේ නම් සැත් කමට සහභාගී වූ වෛද්‍ය කණ්ඩායම මේ සිද්ධිය ට සම්බන්ධ බව තහවුරු වෙනවා. මෑත කාලයේ සිට බටහිර වෛද්‍යවරුන් මුදල් වලට මිස රෝගියාගේ ජීවිතය ගැන කිසිදු තැකීමක් නෑ. මාගේ අත් දැකීම් අනුව බටහිර වෛද්‍ය විද්‍යාව තුළ බොහෝ අසාමාන්‍ය ලෙස වැරදි සිදු වෙනවා. විශේෂයෙන් සැත්කම් කිරීමේදී. ඔවුන් ට කිසිදු විශ්වාසයක් නෑ සැත්කමේ සාර්ථක අසාර්ථක භාවය ගැන. මුදලට පමණක් සීමා වී ඇති ක්ෂේත්‍රය ක් කිව හැකියි බටහිර වෛද්‍ය ක්‍රමය. සත්‍යම කරුණක් නම් රෝහලේ ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද සමහර වෛද්‍ය වාර්තා සත්‍ය ලිඛිත වාර්තා නොවේ. ඇත්තම කිව්වොත් රෝගියා ජීවිතයත් මරණයත් අතර සටන් වදිද්දි වෛද්‍ය වරයා සිතන්නේ මුදලත් තමන් ඉක්මනින් එයින් නිදහස් වීමත් පමණී. සමහර වෛද්‍යවරුන් හදවතින්ම තමන්ගේ වගකීම දරනවා. නමුත් දැන් එවැනි දෙවිවරු වැනි වෛද්‍යවරුන් මිහි පිට නැත. මලක් වගේ මේ පුංචි දරුවගේ අහමි කිරීම ගැන හදවතින්ම ශෝකය පළ කරනවා. ඉක්මනින් නීති පියවරක් ගත යුතුයි. 🇱🇰

මගේ සහෝදරයෙකුට රජයේ රෝහලකදී හර්නියාවක් සඳහා ඇතුලත් උනා, ඔහුගේ වයස අවුරුදු 29 යි. සතියකට පසු දිනයක් සත් කමට නියම කළා. ඒ දොස්තර දිනකට සීමිත සැත්කම් කරන නිසා , නියමිත දින මල්ලිව සැත්කමෙන් ඉවත් කොට, ඔහුගේ වෙනත් රෝගියකුට සැත්කම් කල බව දැනගන්නට ලැබුණා. මල්ලිගේ සැත්කම ඊළඟ සතියට කල් දැම්මා. ඉන් දෙන දෙකකට පසුව මගේ සහෝදරයා හර්නියාව පුපුරා මියගියා. මුන්ට මිනි මරන්න ලයිසන් තියෙනවා. ලයිසන් මිනි මරුවෝ.

Very true. It's hard to believe that a panel of doctors in this day of relatively advanced (at least adequately advanced ...) technology got this messed up to this extent. If there had been such an abnormality to begin with, shouldn't they have discovered it prior to the operation ?. Okay, let's assume (assume !....) the fact that whatever the available scanning systems here had not shown anything unusual and that fooled all the doctors in the panel to make this seemingly stupid mistake at the time of the operation conducted in December 2022. Okay, let's assume so .... But, why then, having understood (?) the gravity of the mistake they had made and the agony of this innocent 3 year-old kid at least after the operation, didn't they at least timely mediate on it and take all possible actions as soon as possible to help safe this life rather than waiting util this very last moment ?. Can you justify this 8 months gap by any means ? .... Shouldn't they at least have any honesty and conscience to rectify the grave mistake they had committed rather than coming up with all these false promises and selfish, idiotic and horrendous excuses too in the end ?. How did the administration of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) let the doctor who carried out this utterly chaotic and clumsy operation (Dr. Naveen Wijekoon) to leave the country had they started the investigation and properly informed the relevant authorities too in the mean time ?.

It's hard to believe that a panel of doctors in this day of relatively advanced (at least adequately advanced ...) technology got this messed up to this extent. If there had been such an abnormality to begin with, shouldn't they have discovered it prior to the operation ?. Okay, let's assume (assume !....) the fact that whatever the available scanning systems here had not shown anything unusual and that fooled all the doctors in the panel to make this seemingly stupid mistake at the time of the operation conducted in December 2022. Okay, let's assume so .... But, why then, having understood (?) the gravity of the mistake they had made and the agony of this innocent 3 year-old kid at least after the operation, didn't they at least timely mediate on it and take all possible actions as soon as possible to help safe this life rather than waiting util this very last moment ?. Can you justify this 8 months gap by any means ? .... Shouldn't they at least have any honesty and conscience to rectify the grave mistake they had committed rather than coming up with all these false promises and selfish, idiotic and horrendous excuses too in the end ?. How did the administration of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) let the doctor who carried out this utterly chaotic and clumsy operation (Dr. Naveen Wijekoon) to leave the country had they started the investigation and properly informed the relevant authorities too in the mean time ?.
