Great video Rick! White carbon brush covers were used on white mixers and gray or black carbon brush screws were used on chrome models. Hamilton Beach model H was manufactured from 1956 until 1960. Consumer Reports down rated them (1956) due to being susceptible to current leakage (shock hazard). You sure have the motor sounding brand new! These mixers never seem to show their age. The original cords for both white and chrome models was gray and round with very fine ribs. The plug was hard gray plastic. Good luck in straightening out the beaters! This is my favorite mixer to use when making divinity! Capable of chopping whole pecans in a batter. Thank you again for showing us how to service this useful appliance.

Thanks Russ, and your knowledge is so greatly appreciated! The beaters straightened out ok, pretty tough metal, tougher than they look lol.
The chrome H is probably my favorite HB, I am really not a fan of the model K and later , you can tell by the quality of the build materials they (HB corporate) started to get cheap.

@@vintagemixersandmore1666 I know how you feel about cleaning these beaters, they are more difficult to clean. The brush screws my mother's model 25 are black. CR also "down-rated" the magnified "MixGuides" of both the model G and model H as difficult to read by the testers in both 1950 and 1956. The endurance test done by CR back then would eliminate most mixers made today. CR quit using the test around 1966 and explained why showing a pile of broken mixers as most failed the test. Funny how corporate offices of manufacturers ignored the article, more difficult to find quality products today with resorting to something rated for "commercial use."

@@russ5024 The mix guide IMO is a novelty, but a pretty cool one. They certainly have a way of collecting grime underneath! Independent testing standards must be pretty light compared to those in the 50's, but it must have been a badge of honor for those manufacturers who passed the tests.

@@vintagemixersandmore1666 Also at this time, Hamilton Beach had a 5 yr. guarantee on most of their small appliances and offered that beginning in 1956 until 1966.

I have this exact mixer, with the original grey cord, ten speeds, no timer. It belonged to my mother and I recall her making wonderful confections with it back into the early 1960s. Works like a charm. I have been looking around the Internet in an attempt to find a manufacture date and have seen quite a variety of dates given; some of them probably just guesses. Are you able to tell when this model was manufactured?

Hello Rick. Thank you for your videos. I've been repairing small appliances for nearly 5 years, and recently got my first HB Model H mixer. Took it apart, and got it back together. It runs good now, but only at high speed. I see how the speed control works, but I must be missing something. Can you help me? Thank you! Ed

My Mom has a mixer just like this and the brushes are finally worn out. Where would you find brushes for this model. I've been searching but nothing is popping right up. Thanks

HI Rick. Looking for replacement rubber feet for a chrome Model H, like the one in your video. Any suggestions, or can I purchase them from you?
