As of 2024, the following countries are known to possess nuclear weapons:
United States
Russia
China
France
United Kingdom
India
Pakistan
North Korea
Israel (Israel has a policy of ambiguity and has not officially confirmed its nuclear arsenal, but it is widely believed to possess nuclear weapons).
These countries are recognized either openly or by credible international assessments as nuclear-armed states. The first five are recognized as nuclear-weapon states under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), while the others are not parties to the NPT as nuclear-armed states.
