Exactly my experiece.... wanted to use it easy runs but I have a feeling of wanting to fast in this shoe. Legs felt really refreshed afterwards compared.to Zero drop. Thankyou!!
Mine came in. If you thought the last ones ran short these run true to size so don’t size up. The upper is less soft but more breathable. It feels durable enough.
Excellent review! I've been used to the Alter zero drop for several years. I was surprised to see this 4mm but it's good for Altra because it allows them to position themselves on the 4mm market and offer a real alternative to Hoka with a real wide toe box. I want to test them because they seem versatile to me with this rocker shape. Ok 4mm but personally with a forefoot stride, it shouldn't be a problem if I alternate with a 0 drop Vanish or Escalante racer.
I have the Altra Experience Flow and yes it provides me with more than adequate shock absorption and I am 5'10" 190 lbs. I also have a pair of the Altra Via Olympus 2, NB Fresh Foam More v4 and NB Fuel Cell Propel. For me, I prefer wearing and working out in my Altras over my NB's....why? my Altras are ultra stable, they have a wider toe box, have great front rockers, they do not feel heavy on my feet, and they are comfortable to wear on my feet for the entire day. These two Altras have swung me from away from using my NB's, Asics Novablast 4's and Brooks Ghost Max 2's. I am only a recreational runner, but do jog 3-4x's a week and do more HIIT type of workouts (burpees, jumping lunges, lateral skies, high knees, assault bike, etc), so although I need a shoe I can jog in, the shoe needs to be laterally stable for HIIT type of workouts and must be comfortable for all day wear, too.
Please consider quieter background music, or no music at all. Thank you.
or reduce the level. it can't be the same or higher than voice

Im excited to pick up a pair
It’s a good pick up
I'm using the fwd experience right now with approx 90 miles on them and I enjoy them for a daily trainer, i'm curious how these compare to each other.
If you liked the FWD Experience, we think you'll like this update!
According to Altra the fwd experience has compression molded EVA midsole and the experience flow has a lightweight compression molded midsole.
Where is the Hoka Skyward X review?
Stay tuned March 25

It's a looker!

Does the firmer midsole provide adequate shock absorption?

The FWD is really comfy, bit hard midsole, but it transitions really nice, however you land. Great allround shoe!
I managed about a minute before the annoying music did my head in! Off!
