I was on a laser in 20 knots, im 13 and inexperienced. I was terified because normal winds = like no winds where i live soooo i couldnt tack or jyb... yet i was faster than the more experienced sailors XD
Doesn't laser have a age limit of 16 years old. Good job going faster ??? Well you have less weight but, i doubt you are heavy or strong enough to control the boat at high winds, so a sailor older than you would be more effective. You may want to try your chance at lower winds as your weight is now an advantage, and strength is not necessary.
@@gabziu3161 in 420s specifically just do a decent amount of research on techniques and that’s how I learned a lot, I am usually skipper and I know that in light winds learn how to roll when racking it helps a lot and keeps your boats speed from reaching zero. I have never sailed Europe but I know where I sail USA there isn’t that much wind all the time, so I had to learn how to roll very early which caused me to capsize a lot, so just take baby steps and study on techniques and practice all the time. Also with 420s find someone you are very comfortable sailing with. Otherwise it will just be hard to sail smoothly as you may not agree with crew.
Boat probably would have been more stable with the kite up but I understand the 470 kite is fairly big and might have come to harm if it snagged on something
@@ultraclipz3230 It's always all about sail pressure. With the kite up the boat is more balanced and will go much faster reducing pressure on the rig. I'd say there is probably more probability of breaking something with the Kite down than the with the kite up. Reduce the loads on the rig and go faster. Win Win. Luv and Peace.

Well you have less weight but, i doubt you are heavy or strong enough to control the boat at high winds, so a sailor older than you would be more effective.
You may want to try your chance at lower winds as your weight is now an advantage, and strength is not necessary.
tacking with enough wind is ez just try dropping the joystick from the rudder oh boiii u will tack like u wouldnt believe it! hahaha
