1) You started be saying "The key word is "if," not "is." Thats a pretty big IF you're insinuating.
2) Him being biased doesnt make him any better (even if he rightfully criticised GODI MEDIA as it should be). And that is because the idea of him name calling GODI many times is to make a point, that you must stop sitting in politicians Godi, while he's doing the same. Problem started when he is being projected as centrist/neutral. I said 'projected' not 'claimed' because I dont see him admitting or rebuking that he's actually neutral/centrist. If he's admitting he is biased, good no worries atleast his supporters stop claiming that. Just for his sake he should be open about his biases because if he claims hes actually neutral, good luck with that.

If you think I am comparing incidents because I have a side, and by side I think you are referring to me giving importance/care on one incident/victim (Kolkata) but not the other (Hathras). Allow me to clarify if thats what you perceive of me because its incorrect, thats what OP try to convey that dhruv is biased. This is a personal take of mine, but a lot people confuses bias and facts (also presenting facts is neutral) as different thing. It dends on how you are presenting it or how much you are hiding it, thats what Rathee is doing. I have compared the incident based on his presentation of facts, thumbnail he used, and his efforts on both videos. His video was titled "Hathras Coverup | Explained by Dhruv Rathee" When he did video on Hathras he went case to case detail, the attitude of law enforcement and politician towards the case, opposition protesting to meet the family and treated like crap, people (mainly from BJP) bringing Whatabouterism to every case (this portion is extremely important, remember this part), the culprits association (accused is Thakur) and mainly the coverup. His video on Hathras was on point and called out the BS from Yogi govt.
4) His video on Kolkata was the other hand, was messy. He did a pity criticism on WB govt for 3 min, didnt even bothered to go deeper in the subject. The reason he conveniently referenced Nadia case to prove Mamata but in a sneaky way he didnt addressed the accused who is not only tmc leaders son, but threatened to douse the families house on fire. Even in that 3 min case explanation he try to pin it as just mere incompetence from Mmata govt, but didnt go depth specifically on her party involment with women violence and violence in general. (Thats why he selectively used Nadia for mamatas affair comment, but didnt go deeper with the accused involment with TMC. Same goes with Sandheshkhali and the recent TMC member publicly flogging a stripped female) Also didnt go deeper with the convicts history and connections with police and principal. Didnt explained further about the history of that hospital. Lets not ignore how they contaminated the crime scene. And he did that because he chose the title of the video as "Kolkata Case | Why is India so UNSAFE For Women? | Dhruv Rathee". The former title was put it in a way to focus on the incident, while the latter title he tried to generalize the topic nationwide. He specified on one, but generalized on another in terms of incident. I like the video primarly focused on the incidental topic, at the same time ra9e is a nationwide issue and I agree with him and you have 0 reasons to not address it. He could have made a separate video about ra9e in India. If you claim to be neutral/factual shouldnt it makes sense to apply the standards for all videos.
5) He brought up multiple case references (predominantly BJP) for a video which was supposed to be kolkata centric. On Hathras he was on point (technically he did bring up Nirbhaya, but that was more like WHAT IF situation)

Remember I told you about WHATABOUTERISM in point 3). According to Dhruv, he often see people pointing out different case to make a projection that hes targeting BJP and dont care about other cases, so they ended up bringing the topic "Tu ye chod, congress ruled states ki baare mein bol". Rathee particularly said unfortunately ra9e happens every 16 min so he cant cover every single one, and the reason that he made the Hathras video particularly because it is one of the rare case in terms of coverups and protecting the accused. Solid point, agreed glad we are on same page.
8) Lekin Kolkata mein kya ho rahi hai, quite the opposite. 1st 3 day since incident, TMC and left wing supporters didnt say anything but the moment doctors start protesting it became national topic and Mamata addressed on the 5th day which is the 14th (notice the date because its right before independence, and its a convenient excuse to generalize and put burden on just central govt) with a post. Even with the post, obviously she stated strict action and speedy justice, but to coverup her mess she brought the topic of other states. The moment she posted that, so many left wing circles (who kept silent like Mamata) did the exact methods, blamegame and bringing up other state cases. Sagarika Ghose (who also said Kolkata is safe for women) like pointing fingers at BJP for their mess up but when it comes under their state she tweets dont politicise Kolkata case. Just like her even Saket Gokhale and Mahua moitra were silent (Mahua ki baat hi mat kar, dont know hom many more she blocked) 'An Open Letter' named predicted the BS happening and it did. He stated the exact point on Kolkata that Dhruv pointed on Hathras about Whatabouterism. Why didnt dhruv condemn the statements of Saket, mahua, and sagarika?

Personally, I didn't mind him bringing other examples and morality. It's just that for a 30+ min video which is titled kolkata police, man just used 1st 3 to 5 min of the kolkata case video which is 1/5- 1/6 of the video. And even with that 3 to 5 min, he didn't fully explained the situation.
Like for example the place it happened, injuries, you know important details, and even the details he pointed out, he presented in a lazy way, it was like idhar udhar, like he didnt explained on chronological order (look at Mohak mangal video and u see the stark contrast).
IMPORTANT DETAIL wtf dhruv didn't mention that demolition was taking place where the crime has happened, that's an important RED FLAG for an investigation. But yeah Kolkata police has no issue for citing legal notice to twitter users. He mentioned Sandip Roy accused of corruption and illegal activities and how he got transferred into another hospital, THATS IT Dhruv stopped right there! He didn't explain aisa kya majboori tha ki why govt transferred him despite the fkup, especially he's embroiled with previous controversy like nepotism on choosing vendors, giving out contracts to different ineligible parties, recycling medical waste withing cross border I.e Bangladesh, financial irregularities. Now probably you would wonder why I bringing this up. Too many contradiction with the case like was Sanjay roy the only ones or there were other insiders, hence prompting to shut ghosh mouth in exchange of his involvement, cause hes literally running the racket. Dhruv shamelessly ignored the political angle possibility, by citing movie references of toxic masculinity as a reason of Ra9e.
This whole idea of Dhruv giving preachy about Ra9e is a cover up for TMC political angle as opposed to him trying to show TMC just an incompetent govt (which we know is more than that ). Take Nadia gang ra9e for example, he deliberately and conveniently ignored to named the accused whose father is TMC leader (as opposed to him not having an issue naming Brij bhushan,bano ra9ists and other BJP leaders so u clearly see the bias) , threatened the family pointing gun and threatened to set their house on fire. But no, this fker DELIBERATELY AND CONVENIENTLY only used half information like Mamta "affair comment" indirectly try to paint it as a patriarchal angle, when it was more of that. And let not forget the Sandeshkhali incident, ab thak ek video nahi kiya you know why! Cause just like Kolkata and Nadia, this one was political and blaming on victim, only difference from Sandeshkhali and the other 2 is that Mamta led TMC called Sandeshkhali victims as Paid BJP workers, which give BJP political higher ground, and as usual Dhruv want us to suspend our beliefs that BJP are not the only political groups affiliated with ra9e (which needs to called out as well)
Look, name and shame regardless of political affiliation, that goes for BJP. And lets be honest, if one of the details I added that he missed somewhat had a BJP angle, he would have no issue busting his ass off to make it accurate as opposed to his lazy take here. But when you use ra9e as a tool to diverting the main reason of why it happened (political backing and kolkata police law and order issue) for the sake of your agenda which is maligning BJP constantly , I'm sorry to say you are just as guilty as the ra9ists (that goes for right wing too)
