Dylan Piper .... I know that the usual “internet magicians” (those who claim to know how EVERY magic trick is done) will try & pick this apart but truthfully, I don’t care HOW you both did it.... Oh WOW, my tears can't stop following from the true love of a father and a son. Then when Dylan repeated what Ashlee (sp) said about his son being a ray of hope in a dark and uncertain time, I totally lost it. Covid took so many lives of loved ones and created so much hurt around the world. May your very special bond be a reminder to everyone to love and respect everyone regardless of differences, we only have 1 life.
Just wonder what incredible work they had done before this miracle has got success. Hence, I am not able to imaging what way such kind of things arise in their head.
Great job. And separate respect for they are doing it as family.
HAY MCC....i had a field day with Damien Obrian on Sat.....not saying it wasn’t entertaining..... I iPhone screen was fake....I mean ‘’press home button to unlock’’...it doesn’t have one! And the padlock stays locked all the time which doesn’t happen on i phone., you get the network provider in the top corner it only changes to time when its unlocked...he quickly swipes the screen with his thumb when walking away to reveal the text message....yeah sealed tube. When he puts the lock down he clearly pushed the table top with his thumb which releases the box bottom and the ladder top and allows him to insert the paper into a split in that tube ......and yeah notice the pad on the stand is vertical and he uses his right hand and pushes something to release the Pad at the top rather than lift it off....self writing board operated via Bluetooth....... maybe?

Dylan looks better in specs ..
Easily understandable. The pictures are not random. Some how he changed them before put on the table. And when he went behind the big picture to hold, there exist a secret trailer or something, by using that he got out and his son came.
But the way he presented, the image and affection he create that very touchy.I think being a father and raise his child is the best magic for a man's life. His presentation and thinking to create a loving environment to a father ( previously Simon, today Ashley) is the real magic not his technique.
Magic tricks are all based around few principle tricks... It's the delivery and presentation that truly counts

I don't understand why the act is named after the father and only one of his sons. What about the twin ? he was part of the audition as well .. :S seems odd to me.

Here's how I think the trick was done:
1. The blank cards on the floor were blank on both sides. Those with pictures on them have pictures on both sides. As such, Magician 'forced' the special guest to select 6 blank cards. (** actually it doesn't even matter as Magician was just going to place the cards chosen on top of the camouflaged pictures on the table**)
2. The black table looked odd. Probably similar to the one Shin Lim uses for his tricks. The 6 picture cards were already placed face down on the table before the act, the back of the picture cards are black so that they camouflaged with the black table.
3. Magician then simply placed the blank cards on top of the picture cards on the table.
4. Magician played the pre-recorded video and opened the cards using a double lift to reveal the pictures.
5. Magician already knew the son's name is MICAH. The picture cards were pre-selected before the act to form 'MICAH'
This or a simple switch. The camera didn't stay on the magician for the key moment and it's hardly tricky to fool the numb nut judges.
@@timbalders9683 Exactly. This is why the magician demanded that the cards were FACE-DOWN, so he could quietly swap them for a set of 6 other cards, in an exact order, without the judge realising. From there, just add some over-dramatic music and father-son pulling-on-the-heartstrings stuff. The actual magic was pretty naff. That whole bit where he's holding his hand out, projecting to his son what card his other hand is over, was just ridiculous.... All they needed was their pack of 6 pre-arranged cards, in the correct order, so they'd be placed on the table on the correct spot. Job done. Next act, please.
@@MikeGledhill Pretty average wasnt it. I know most magic is one or two tricks within an elaborate scene but this was just two simple tricks within a pile of guff.

Amazing... the 6 cards were already there on the table- watch when the cards start fluttering down from the sky and one lands on the black table - it gets stuck under a piece of black cloth clearly where the cards are hiding...you can even see the outline of them .....then watch the dads microphone on his t shirt it disappears when he magically transfers to the ‘‘live link’’ ...clearly all just recorded.(which i expect is why none of the judges interact with his son)........finally at the end you can see when dads foot moves towards the picture there is a glass screen....where the son is hiding........not saying it wasn’t clever but lets face it like the rest of the acts...dancing turtles.....tables that don’t shatter under a ton weight....poor!
