    I need to say this. I drink. This has caused a big problem with my Dad. He was a drunk. I called him for fathers day, just minutes into what seemed a normal conversation, judgment came from him. Loudly with a raised voice he said, you need to guite drinking beer, your a sinner. Then he went on to say , the word says give no provision for the flesh bla bla bla neither be partakers with them who do. Then he hung up the phone. So pray for my Dad, Rich, and me Joe. He has driven a wedge between himself and every member of the family with accusations and judgment. I love my Dad,

      My son was also a drinker. He passed August 1st with a failed liver. He was 42 years old. I too preached to my son and prayed constantly for him. God gives us free will until we die. I’m sure he is praying for you. Give him grace as our Father so freely gives us.

      This is a wedge you create for yourself. As Paul states, don't continue to do things that create friction. (Look at 35:14 in the video) It's your choice.

    • @joek511
      @joek511 3 місяці тому +3

      @@jtfike It's not me creating the friction. My Dad is 1000 miles away. Drunkenness is not me. I do enjoy a cold beer. Some like soda, i like a beer. I respect my Dad, I respect his wishes , around him I don't drink .In the last 40 years of my life. I could count on 1 hand to how many times he has called. We have called him thousands of times. There is a great deal of things he did to us as children. Use your imagination. I forgive him, i've told him. Yet, he rejects me and my attempts to restore/ reconcile because I drink a beer.

      My dad drank also and then when he got saved he told all of his kids who drank they should quit to please God. I didn't drink so I asked him why after drinking all those years was he so hard on the kids who took after him. He said, he felt responsible for not leading a better role and now he was trying to make up for that. Maybe your dad feels the same way. He needs to pray for his children who drink and pull down the strong holds he let Satan build up in him and his kid. He needs to be merciful as he needed some one to be for him. God is our help to overcome and our deliverer. Prayers for you and your dad to come back together in ❤️ love.

      @joek511 do you think he was giving you a hard time because he doesn’t want your life to turn out like his? This might be a sign of love and not anger even though he is possibly trying to show it in an inappropriate way.

    I’ve been in church all my life, going on Sundays. But I truly feel like we supposed to keep the sabbath y’all because it’s in the TenCommandments .
    Exactly how we do on Sundays. Not any different. Because that’s what’s in Ten Commandments.
    But I’m not judging I go to church on Sundays too. I love my church. Grace and peace

      I personally think we should be attending Church on Saturday as I believe Jesus rose on the Sabbath, which is why He wasn't there on Sunday..He went to the cross in Wednesday and was in the grave 3 days and nights. And He was the Passover Lamb, Easter is another Roman influence it's the name of a Northern goddess eostre

    Another good video and GREAT teaching. I don't know that I've heard seen/heard anything from Gary that I'd take exception with but I do take a minor exception to Gary talking about "God's opinion". I don't believe God has an opinion The Oxford Dictionary defines the word pretty well when it says "a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge". Thus God never has an opinion.
    I would also say that the Sabbath contrary to what Gary said was not just a gift but rather was a rule/regulation to be followed. Pretty sure he'd agree with that though.

    Adding to Romans 14 is,,,,, 1Co 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, (but I will not be brought under the power of any). Meaning if you can't control it don't do it, it's not expedient unto you

  • @chrismaguire3667

    Agreed with this, but an interesting point concerning the Sabbath:
    There is a recent school of theological thought, which uncommonly get talked about, is that though Jesus died and was buried before the Sabbath *before sunset,* which began the Sabbath, on the Jewish Sixth Day (Jews never named days, save the Sabbath *as*the 'Sabbath*), we know that Jesus rose again on 'the third day'.
    But according to *which* calendar??
    To try and keep it simple as possible, imo: if one does the maths (I'm British 😉), the how-the-rather complicated 360-day LUNAR calendar of Israel loosely works has not only Jubilee Years, every 49 years, but a 7 yearly and weekly rest period - a Sabbath.
    However, the 360 day calendar leaves both extra days and *months* over so, to address this, they had leap days and *leap months!* Normally 12 months of 30 days, every seven years *13 months*, one month repeating!
    We follow a *solar* calendar of 365 days, and have a leap day every 4 years (we are in one now) and we have 'leap seconds', determined on the Earth's orbit and rate of spin (keeping it simple for we who have to use "The Idiot's Guide to..." books😋 ), and atomic clocks.
    But the Jews, in Jesus' time, only had what G-d the Father told them, so here's the thing (deep breath):
    In our Gregorian Calendar (Set up by Pope Gregory to rein in the excesses of peasant farmers to regulate both the growing seasons and stop them from celebrating pagan fertility festivals that 'ensured' good crops) which actually last, I think 5 days off the previous Julian Calendar, set up by Julius Caesar, of all people (still here🤔). All based on the Sun. Of course, the Sumerian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Olmec, Toltec, Mayan and Chinese Solar calendars were different, but they reflected their own perception of time and culture.
    Not to muddy the waters: the Jews have a 360 day LUNAR calendar, still does in religious terms.
    We Gentiles have a 365 day calander, but it was influenced by the demands of the Industrial Revolution in the UK and we imported that out to the World via the British Empire. It's only business, and all that! Of course, people were up in arms, but the Church Politic loved it because they could better 'herd their flocks', as did Western Governments - money, money money!
    The Sabbath: it is now postulated that when Jesus died in AD33, in the 4th month, which we call April (still here?😕), He died, at the end of Passover *straight into a DOUBLE SABBATH* weekend (Remember leap months?)! Therefore, it is possible that maybe, just *maybe,* He never rose again on what WE think of as Sunday, but on (hang on tight) *TUESDAY MORNING!* The Jews had, in effect, TWO 'Sundays', our Sunday and Monday, and their First Day (no names for days, remember) began, for them on OUR designated Tuesday!
    Therefore, really, the Gentile Church is wrong about Resurrection (or 'Easter') Sunday (or weekend), even the Seventh Day Adventists (sorry folks)! It gets worse - our calendar has been historically messed about so much, though we can pinpoint micro and nanoseconds, we still can't pinpont Easter Week, because though both the Jewish Passover and Gentile Church, confusingly, use a LUNAR timing, and they should correlate, *they don't!* Remember, the Jewish Calander is *5 DAYS SHORT* according to *ours!* 😵😵
    But here we are, thanks to the Council Of Nicea that diverted the Universal Christian Church away from it's Jewish roots, an whole 'nother thing...
    Wow, if you got this far, well done! If you got lost, reread it. It's not me disputing anything, because we work with what we have, and we honour the Lord in it, but I find it interesting. Well, take it as you wish and remember, I kept it as simple as possible for all all we dyscalculic (for I am) types reading this; so for all you lovely nitpickers out there, please - try not to blind us - too much - with your mathematical genius!😋. Praise the Lord!!

Get a CLUE!! They are taught communism not anything good.

      Do not be deceived!! We are living in the end of the end times! Lies and liars are everywhere, who do you believe? I believe God's word not anybody else. Our children are a responsibility, we should be taking care of their souls. The State wants you to believe they own your children, so who do you trust. Many a parent who sent their children to universities or public schools are now lamenting because they have lost them, spiritually speaking. Don't be that parent!

    Question for discussion (a big one for our times): For those Christians whom were convicted to not take an injection because they were tested on human embryonic kidney cells, would it be seen as a stumbling block to run segregated services and also endorse the injections citing Romans 13 and stating that those who didnt were under a 'spirit of rebellion'. My former church (in Australia) did this, even though they acknowledged conscience.

Because there’s a lot of confusion, yes I did go to church as a small child, and years I didn’t then again when I was where I could. But is the New Testament what we use for a guide and the Old Testament as history? Thanks 🙏

    I feel like the Fourth Commandment is pretty clear. If it’s your discretion then Thou Shall Not Kill is discretionary as well. Also, pork was never given as a food, clean or unclean, it was not food from the beginning. But I love your teachings.

    • @Learnerofthings
      @Learnerofthings 3 місяці тому +4

      It actually says thou shall not murder. I think the Hebrew word is Rasa which means murder. Pork was always eaten as food by the Gentiles and since Jesus was sending Peter to also minister to the Gentiles, He revealed that God made all food clean. Jesus reinforced this earlier by stating that it’s what comes out of our mouths that make us unclean, not what goes in.

If your conscience and assurance of salvation depends on your belief that Saturday is a special day then for you it would be a sin to sabbath on Sunday- so keep it up but don’t cause your brother to stumble over non spiritual things.
