    Having played basketball for a lot of years in my life (never anything more competitive than some college ball), one of the things I have learned is a team that moves the ball around and knows where each other are can be disadvantaged in height, weight, skill, etc. but still be able to compete and win because they work better together.

    Boy, Manu Ginobli and Steph Curry are both known as incredible shooters but the two of them probably had the most highlight reel passes in this compilation as well.

      It might be a soccer-specific thing because as a lifelong basketball fan I've never heard anyone refer to it as a meg. There really isn't a word for it beyond "between the legs" as far as I'm aware.

      ​@@houktg - Maybe some of the soccer terms are running off now, because growing up we called that getting "megged" as well but i'm only in my 20's so it might be a newer thing relatively speaking.

    We also refer to going through the legs as a “nutmeg” actually, an “ankle-breaker” is when the dribbler crosses the ball in front of the defender and causes him to change directions and lose balance.

    as someone that played college basketball... these plays for the most part just come naturally, that’s why it’s so quick because there’s basically no thought process... it’s really kinda a weird feeling when it happens lol

    Passing ability comes from a whole lot of games, once you play a lot you come to know where people should be and all you need to learn is how to get the ball there. Pretty cool process

    Dribbling the ball between someone else's legs in basketball is just as a humiliating move as megging someone. We were always trying to do it in pick up games as kids.

    Luka Doncic said Euro basketball is harder to score because of the rule differences, and its also much more strenuous because of the lack of stoppages to get a breather (timeouts and all). Although, he did say that even though its easier to score in the NBA, the skill level of the NBA is WAY higher.

    Yah, I`m old school. 80-90`s watch Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. REAL teams players KNOW where there
    mates are on the court, hence the "no look" passes. You play with the same guys for a few years you have
    a feel for where they are on the court.

    one of the core aspects of basketball is the slang/lingo. you learn it growing up learning and playing the game. and the same street terminology is used at the professional level

    They definitely practice the plays. (Unless running ISO) They have set plays that are usually called in half court situations but the plays happen organically in all sorts of ways. A team could call the same play twice and score a basket in 2 totally different ways.

    Re: your comment about traveling - over the last couple of decades the league has become a LOT more lax about traveling calls, I think because a bit of traveling here and there doesn't affect the outcome of a game that much, while calling it a lot can break up the flow of the game and make it less fun to watch. There are lots of clips in this compilation where traveling would have been called 100% of the time back in the 90s.

Just because they don't watch the NBA all the time doesn't mean you show them 50 percent throwing and hoping that it makes it passes!     Do many ex-football (soccer) players go into commentating after their playing careers? I feel like every NBA team has at least 1 former NBA player who calls games for them which usually makes it more entertaining for me

    This video was clearly done by a Warriors fan lol This misses some of the best. I mean no CP3? He is the greatest passer for a decade and hardly any Harden who led the league in passing and is always top 5. Instead we get mostly Lebron and Curry. This isnt the top 60 but good assists none the less.

    14:07 "offside" LMAO. The offside rule in European Football is seriously hard to teach to Americans. You really need to use like beer coasters and napkins and a wadded up napkin to be the ball to explain it. It needs to be visual.
