Having played basketball for a lot of years in my life (never anything more competitive than some college ball), one of the things I have learned is a team that moves the ball around and knows where each other are can be disadvantaged in height, weight, skill, etc. but still be able to compete and win because they work better together.
@@WaterKingCrocodoan yeah I remember them already seeing it, I’m just surprised that the video didn’t include it as a “top 60 assists of the decade”, all love too ❤️🤙🏻
Boy, Manu Ginobli and Steph Curry are both known as incredible shooters but the two of them probably had the most highlight reel passes in this compilation as well.
We also refer to going through the legs as a “nutmeg” actually, an “ankle-breaker” is when the dribbler crosses the ball in front of the defender and causes him to change directions and lose balance.
@@JordanJMyers I am from about five minutes away from where Jason and Randy Moss went to High School. As a child, you knew you were watching something other worldly. Moss played basketball in High school, was a show.

as someone that played college basketball... these plays for the most part just come naturally, that’s why it’s so quick because there’s basically no thought process... it’s really kinda a weird feeling when it happens lol
Passing ability comes from a whole lot of games, once you play a lot you come to know where people should be and all you need to learn is how to get the ball there. Pretty cool process
It might be a soccer-specific thing because as a lifelong basketball fan I've never heard anyone refer to it as a meg. There really isn't a word for it beyond "between the legs" as far as I'm aware.
@@houktg - Maybe some of the soccer terms are running off now, because growing up we called that getting "megged" as well but i'm only in my 20's so it might be a newer thing relatively speaking.
Luka Doncic said Euro basketball is harder to score because of the rule differences, and its also much more strenuous because of the lack of stoppages to get a breather (timeouts and all). Although, he did say that even though its easier to score in the NBA, the skill level of the NBA is WAY higher.
Dribbling the ball between someone else's legs in basketball is just as a humiliating move as megging someone. We were always trying to do it in pick up games as kids.
one of the core aspects of basketball is the slang/lingo. you learn it growing up learning and playing the game. and the same street terminology is used at the professional level
Yah, I`m old school. 80-90`s watch Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. REAL teams players KNOW where there mates are on the court, hence the "no look" passes. You play with the same guys for a few years you have a feel for where they are on the court.
Yeah Jason Williams best plays or Larry Bird highlights, Larry wasn unathletic but his basketball iq was high, good passer, a great shoter and GOAT trash talker :D
They definitely practice the plays. (Unless running ISO) They have set plays that are usually called in half court situations but the plays happen organically in all sorts of ways. A team could call the same play twice and score a basket in 2 totally different ways.
Re: your comment about traveling - over the last couple of decades the league has become a LOT more lax about traveling calls, I think because a bit of traveling here and there doesn't affect the outcome of a game that much, while calling it a lot can break up the flow of the game and make it less fun to watch. There are lots of clips in this compilation where traveling would have been called 100% of the time back in the 90s.
That's BS. In the 90s they were just catering to stars the same way as they do today. Rookies and role players get called off like 5 times a game today
Please do curry’s threes he is literally the best shooter ever in the nba and everyone major players have said it ! He is so Scarry you have to guard him the moment he leaves the house🤣🤣
Do many ex-football (soccer) players go into commentating after their playing careers? I feel like every NBA team has at least 1 former NBA player who calls games for them which usually makes it more entertaining for me
No Steve Nash to stoudimire, or any Jason Williams passes at all! Just because they don't watch the NBA all the time doesn't mean you show them 50 percent throwing and hoping that it makes it passes! Show the ones where they knew exactly what they were doing instead fluke prayers thrown by lebron and other guys who knew they were going to win anyway!
This video was clearly done by a Warriors fan lol This misses some of the best. I mean no CP3? He is the greatest passer for a decade and hardly any Harden who led the league in passing and is always top 5. Instead we get mostly Lebron and Curry. This isnt the top 60 but good assists none the less.
I'd love to see y'all react to more MLB. The offense is typically more impressive with context, but defensive play compilations can be really interesting even to the uninitiated.
through the wickets When a batted ball passes through the legs of a player on the field (most commonly an infielder) it's often said, "That one went right through the wickets." The term refers to the metal arches (called wickets) used in the game of croquet through which balls are hit. Letting the ball through his legs makes a baseball player look (and feel) inept, and the official scorekeeper typically records the play as an error.

I’m surprised they didn’t have the LeBron one handed fake pass from a few years ago, nonetheless, still a good video 🤙🏻
