August 24, 1992, NBC4 Miami was simulcast on WESH2 Orlando, so everyone in CenFla watched Homestead hit hard. I was a career tradesman, and after Andrew, I helped put Homestead back together. I liked South Dade County so much that I lived there for 20 years. NBC4, then NBC6, was my go-to station for news back then. Bryan Norcross is an experienced, well-respected meteorologist and my go-to meteorologist on UA-cam. Thanks Bryan

@RustyChapman-You got it, Rusty! I moved to Miami in ‘72 with only Agnes and David in ‘79. Andrew changed everything. Bryan Norcross probably didn’t sleep for seven straight days. He was blowing his math on the air and yet able to help desperate families over the radio urging all the strong men to “hold that door” and not let the hurricane in. Roofs were blowing off, walls were blowing away, terrified people would grab their dining room table as a shield and pound on the next-door neighbor’s door, people they’ve never spoken to. This storm blew away even the old Floridians and all their stories. Bryan Norcross was a huge hero.

We live in Lecanto FL. We're always ready especially with 23 acres of Live oaks and water oaks. The water oaks fall at times but the live oaks always make it. God bless everyone and be safe out there. Lecanto is in Citrus 🍊 county just West of Citrus Springs and Homasasa springs. High ground.

It’s nice to listen to an actual weather expert. So many wannabe hype chaser looking for subs.
Size is more important than strength.. ex. A 150 mph but a 5 mile eye wall is less destructive as a 110mph which eye wall extend 15 miles.
Real Estate selling in FL is already a giant game of musical chairs, as people can't get out fast enough. Between the insurance companies either pulling out or denying claims, property taxes going through the roof, HOA costs exploding, and giant condo assessments being issued, it is going to get very ugly in the year ahead. Best of luck to all, because this isn't going to be easy.

It better not! When they come in at Cedar Key they run over J'ville! I lost my chimney in 2021 in Tropical Storm Ella! My chimney exploded literally just as I took a chicken pot pie out of the oven. My GSD disappeared into the bathroom. Even dogs know what to do!

Only on the east coast of Florida. Even so they've had two injuries there too. An electrocution and a tree fell. This is not a game. No one is exaggerating this. It has not come inland but Georgia is being hit with flooding rains already
