Something I've noticed about bands that are considered "parody" ... Flight of the Conchords... Lonely Island... underneath the sophomoric lyrics and concepts is some legit musicianship. Just wrapped up in fart jokes.
I almost get the idea that Jack and Kyle feel like if they tried to do something very serious that they’d only be average so they make outrageously good funny music instead, but I really think they’re 2 musicians so incredible at what they do that they deserve a piece of music everyone can listen to and take seriously knowing they put their all into crafting a singular cohesive piece of music that fully expresses the metric ton of talent between the 2 of them
Saw them live in concert once. They "played" this in the middle of the show. It was the most genius way for them to take a break without having to let the rocking stop. Truly the greatest band of all time.
