    That Pelikan nib is impressive. Wonderful shade of red; perfect for illustrating crime scenes.

    Another GREAT video, however please, please do a alternate to MB Corn Poppy Red video. I’m down to the last bit of my bottle and no one has the Corn Poopy for sale. I LOVE the Corn Poppy and so far have not seen anything that is not too pink or brown and so on. There is nothing like the perfect RED of the Corn Poppy!!!!

      Try their Year of the Tiger limited edition for 2022. Almost like the corn poppy and behaves like it on quite a few types of paper.

    Aauugghhhh!!! Why did I watch this?! I have an anti-Montblanc thing, especially given the only ink I've ever had that went bad--like chunks of mould bad--was Montblanc. But I love this red!!!

      I believe PenBBS uses the Bock system whereas this is JoWo so I don't think it'll fit without some sort of adapter. Flexible Nib Factory might have something!

    I like it better in the fine/EF writing sample.
    Once you washed it with water I thought it looked like spilled tomato soup. So now all I can think of is, MontBlanc’s ‘Can of Tomato Soup’ Red.

    • @simeonking2910
      @simeonking2910 3 роки тому +1

      Wouldn’t you agree the standard for testing any ink for their color value is with a EF & F nib? For color sake….
      Saturation: MED and above….

    • @damutoob
      @damutoob 3 роки тому +1

      @@simeonking2910 I think (hard to believe some days) that you should test an ink in every nib size you’ve got for color consistency. I would like to believe, even though I know it’s not true, a well made ink should have consistency in the usual range of fountain pen nibs. I tend to write with fine and medium nib pens.

    • @simeonking2910
      @simeonking2910 3 роки тому +1

      @@damutoob true. I asked because as you notice with an EF nib gives a lighter presentation than those of the mediums and broad nibs….

    • @damutoob
      @damutoob 3 роки тому +1

      @@simeonking2910 perhaps my old eyes are deceiving me on the color, but I still prefer the blue/red color from of the EF nib Azizah is using than the true red color the ink becomes when used in the course. One of the reasons I haven't bought bottles of a red ink in 25 years, other than some Diamine reds that came in 6 bottle multi paks, is that reds were always disappointing. I still have most of a bottle of Omas red. The old Pilot/Namiki red I gave away long long ago, it was an orange red. I was not a fan...

    Thanks for the review, Aziza. I prefer these bottles to the shoe bottles and the ultra modern madly expensive ones. Attracted by the retro writing on the box. What I'm really looking for is what I think of as a genuine classic Venetian Red. This isn't quite it. Perhaps I should have got the Shakespeare when I had the chance.

    It is striking me a lot Noodlers Antietam. How it dries up looking slightly brownish like dried blood. Years ago I was on a Sherlock Holmes kick and read all the stories and novels. Scarlet Red is ok, but really should have called it a Studyif Scarlet. The novel is in the public domain now, so shouldn’t be an issue, but even could be a tribute to ACD’s A Study in Scarlet.
    I might get a bottle next time I’m shopping for ink, for the Doyle reference more than the color.

    For how long can a Montblanc ink in the bottle can last once is opened? I have like 3 and planning to buy another one, but if they go bad after a few months that will make them very expensive because I can use only a fraction of a bottle. (I have to write like 500 pages per bottle, in my case unrealistic)
