Loved the time lapse shots. The winter one at 4:22 was the best!

I am from Council Bluffs, Iowa. When I was 10 years old in 1965 my Grandfather would take me to Lake Clitherall and we would fish inside the Mill as it was not restored yet. Wonderful memories and loved the video. I still get up there every other year. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing Paul! We've gone fishing by the Mill a few times. Haven't had much luck with the fish, but it's always fun to go fishing with family! Happy New Year!

@@SacredMusicReAwaken When I was about 11 my Grandpa and brother and I caught a lot of bullheads out of the river fishing right by the old mill. Had the cleaned and smoked. They were delicious. And yes, we Iowans do eat Bullheads. :)

I will never hear this song again without thinking of you singing it. Love the seasonal changes, simply stunning work. Both of you should be so proud of your hard work!

Beautifully done on multiple levels! The seasons (and the years) do fade in and fade out very quickly. This song has been very significant to our family for many, many years. We love hearing and seeing it brought to life so wonderfully and creatively!

My great great grandparents and great grandparents immigrated into the area to Underwood Minnesota where phelps mill is located. Sverdrup township. Scandinavian of course. The mill was built back in the 1800s. They ground their flour and perhaps other grains there. Horse and buggy. I was a child in the 60s. We would jump from The bridge of course, swim and play in the old mill. It had not occurred to me until this moment, but my ancestors probably did the exact same thing. It was getting in a bit rough shape by then. We would climb up a little ladder inside and out into the weird white wood overhang and dangle our lines down into the water to catch fish. To get to the mill, we would bike from Otter Tail Lake. One really long hot ride. On absolutely ancient old bikes, sometimes three of us to a bike. You can imagine there was a lot of stopping.
Thing I missed from your video, was the river and the falls frozen over. Doesn’t it do that most winters? Let’s not mislead the people from other states as to what winter really looks like in Otter Tail County!
Lovely, lovely song and your singing of it! I have saved it to share. Thank you.

Thanks for the kind words and the memories Laurel! We can't imagine riding all the way to Phelp's Mill from Otter Tail Lake on bikes like that. Let alone with 3 people to a bike. 😬
I'm not sure how often the falls freeze completely over, but I can assure you that it was COLD both times we were out there for the winter shots. The second time we were there it was blizzarding so hard we could hardly see 10 ft in front of us. The transition back to winter at 4:34 was during this shoot, although the snow had lightened a little by this time. We also got the drone shots after that, which you can see at 0:20 and 5:02, and even though I wear gloves that are meant for the cold and are flexible for filming, it took days to get the feeling back in all of my fingers. I share this not to complain, but to assure all viewers that you don't mess around with a Minnesota winter.
😀 It must have been at least -30 that day (not sure about wind chill), so I am really not sure why the river wasn't frozen over completely.
We hope you have a great end to 2020 and a happy start to 2021!
