- So we made our way 6 hours from the Bavarian south all the way North East to the capital Berlin. Went on a tour of the city including the Berlin Wall which was so moving to see. After months of studying on the subjects of World War 2 and the Cold War this was always going to be a stop that Isabelle especially really looked forward to.

My friends father came to uk on kinder transport after kristallnacht, he lost most of his family in the holocaust, something we should never forget and never let happen again xx

When I lived there, we could walk up steps and look over the wall into the east side and it just looked so sad to me 😥

So excited to see this vlog? I lived in Berlin Germany for three years as a child. It brings back memories. In fact my older brother and sister being children thought they could get on a bus and get into East Berlin? They ended up being turned around and sent back home to west Berlin. I would love to go back some day:)

I went to Berlin in the summer. You should definitely go back and stay for longer because there is so much to do there, I think that it needs more than a day to do it justice. It’s definitely my favourite city that I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot of European cities!! I also recommend going to the surrounding cities. We spent 5 days cycling around the lakes that surround the western side of Berlin and the cities we went through all had some amazing history, and the lakes were absolutely stunning!
Did you know the line of dark bricks is where the Berlin Wall ran? 😅 I love Berlin, been twice, I’d love to go back again! ❤

I was 12 when the Berlin Wall was torn down. We watched it live in class. I knew all of the history of it from my dad who is a huge history buff, as am I so I soaked in everything my dad taught me. I remember sitting in class watching people taking sledge hammers and hitting that wall so hard over and over and you could tell they were taking their pain and frustration out on that stupid wall. There were people there with pictures of loved ones who had died there. It was so sad and I sat in class and cried. I think it’s so great that you take the girls and Jace to historical places and teach them how important it is to remember history. One of my favorite quotes is “Those who fail to learn about history, are doomed to repeat it.”

I would think it would feel the same as visiting the 9/11 memorial in New York. It’s very solemn to visit the places where so many people have lost their lives.
I am from Berlin (been living in the uk for nearly 10 years now) you should definitely go again for Christmas! Christmas markets in berlin are the best! Especially the one “Am Roten Rathaus”.

You could have gone to Belsen concentration camp. That's good history. Girls could have learnt more about what happened.

I think it is excellent to take your children on visual tours through Europe. When we took our boys on two vacations each year we always would take them to a few learning experience on history.

I just want to thank you for vlogging all these places that you go because I'll never be able to go overseas I live in the US and just seeing your vlogs it makes me feel like I'm there I would love to go overseas and just visit every country over there because I'm fascinated with history and I have German in my bloodline not sure what else I know Indian but I can't remember what else I've never really done one of them tests to find out I really want to cuz I'd like to know where my family comes from both sides of my family but German is on my mama's side and Indian I get from both my mom and dad side of the family
Looks like a very inspirational place to go to learn about the history. You have been to so many popular places with a lot of history. You hear about these places in books and while learning at school / home school. But to actually see them, I think you take it in more xx

I love the little history updates you all give us , and the children are studying and physically going to historical places they study . That is so inspiring as parents to make it that way for your kids . I really wonder why ???? There are people who are soo interfering in your family life and how you bring up your kids, after all that is your business . Not anyone elses . People are totally jellous of your lovely family. This is the best education your children can have. Because you're interested and willing, they will become completely involved and remember this for a long time.
The children are learning so much from your trips, yes it's great learning from text books but actually seeing and experiencing the history is amazing. All the other things like how to travel using public transport is also building up their life skills, your children will go far in life, Well Done Sarah and Chris x

Last week I went and brought the new fifa 23 for the switch last week and its a brilliant game for the switch and I managed to brought that switch sports game as well and at the moment I been playing bowling 🎳 on the switch one of my favourite game so far at the moment
