you have to close the door when you adjust the front seat when the engine is runing, if the doors are opened with engine runing the front seat commands do not work, it's a "security" feature

Have you tried pulling the battery and then connecting it back, turning on the car, and turning the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right for the bas/esp light if it came back? You're correct on the low battery issue - happens on our ml500 after pulling the battery. The car is beautiful and the v12 note is just

Yes and no - we only have so long to look at the vehicles and when you are checking 50-70 that day time is limited. I have a Merc here with the lights up purchased from auction knowing the lights are on) and have just replaced the battery and reset it by turning the steering wheel fully both ways. The lights go off but after 5-10km's they come back on again. So although I could of reset this vehicle warning lights they may come back on when driving. So rather than giving a customer the impression it is fixed it is better to buy it knowing the lights are on and then with a bit of luck it could be a simple reset.
