Mozartian ensembles are supreme. No other composer creates such beauty, harmony, and emotional introspection from what in theater would be a chaotic ten second scene.
Fantastic blended singing in the ensemble with unique voices. Lisa della Casa has a heavenly voice and is so beautiful! Can singing of this high standard be found today? If singers can sing like this now please let me know where I can go to hear it. Thank you for sharing!
Salome and Don Giovanni are the only two operas that I can say are my absolute favorites, because I cannot note my favorite moments in either opera. In their entirety, they are both perfect. But perhaps the moment in Don Giovanni that stands out to me most is when Leporello's disguise is revealed. Something about this moment, musically, thrills me to the bone, as Gerard Souzay would say. And this video certainly thrills me. Thank you.
WOW WOW WOW!!! The staggeringly prodigious Mozart has routine fun blending gloriously beguiling voices in the crafty bawdy novella. An entertaining reminder of the Supernova Mozart !!!!! (I saw my Kirikins in it and never yawned ONCE!!!) GREAT POST LOHENGRIN!!!
The mask trio is my favorite part of Don Giovanni. And because it doesn't end with a bang, it doesn't get applause....except when I'm attending! 2 sopranos, a tenor, and woodwinds. who else would have thought of it??
Temps et espace mythologique. Sur un plateau de rêve, porté par des titans (Furt, Wiener...), évoluent des dieux et des déesses immortels. Grâces au ciel, nous avons accès à cette mémoire.
Back when opera casting was about not just having excellent singers but ones who would actually blend with each other. Half a decade later, Schwarzkopf, Sutherland, and Alva would sing this first trio magnificently, but this is just wonderful too! Around the same time, Lisa Della Casa and Anton Dermota recorded it with Suzanne Danco for Decca as well.
yeah I think this is the second best Ive heard... thats why posted it... and although Grummer does not have a super human voice, she is so fidel to the Tones she sings... all the notes are there... ofc she is not Sutherland.. but I can hear all the notes supported well
I never thought Grümmer was a natural Donna Anna. Her voice was too much on the lyric side to do justice to big moments like 'Or sai chi l'onore' and 'Fuggi, crudele fuggi'. But moments like 'Non mi dir' and of course the Mask Trio and the Sextet are done beautifully, with just the right amount of melancholy to balance the Mozartian cheer. And having Furtwängler at the helm is the icing on the cake! If only his Salzburg Zauberflöte with Seefried, Dermota and Kunz had been filmed!
@@jasonhurd4379 To me Gruemmer owned Anna in a way that other fine Annas didn’t. Or sai chi l’onore expresses vulnerability. Others may convey the fury, but Gruemmer conveys the weakness that underpins it. Elvira is explicit in her confusion. Anna cannot handle hers. Gruemmer gets this across.
I love mozart's ensembles. This is probably an unpopular opinion, but myfavorite part of the magic flute is "nur stille", the queens little ensemble at the end
It’s a bit jarring to hear it in German! Elizabeth Grummer is one of the greatest singers, who is all but unknown by today’s public. An extraordinary musician, who sang Wagner, for example, exactly as written. She never glided over dotted notes, or added gasps and screams like some of her more famous colleagues.
Anything Elisabeth Grummer is inside gets a cosmic dimension!.
such a vocal beauty and perfectly always right in tune!
she is divine!
Where are those artists in our Days...Such timbres and Beauty.. Things changed complete
There is not much if anything better than this on UA-cam.
Superb.

completely agree... I worship them

Thank God Grümmer is not a Sutherland. HAHAHAHAHA...
A voz da Grümmer é tão linda, com uma melancolia nos tons que foi como uma luva para as linhas melódicas da Donna Anna.

My favorit opera the Don Giovanni! In BUDAPEST! 2021.08.04.MÜPA!

also this one, Im crazy with this: ua-cam.com/video/TJJwDnQDNPw/v-deo.html and ofc this: ua-cam.com/video/1_jp5d-eTg4/v-deo.html
its really quite crazy how he made those wild (and often silly) pieces of music work so beautifully
Μozart was a divine child playing in God's playground
@@nathandavis3002 ...what "wild pieces of music..." are you referring to?!
such a laser beam of a voice!

Erna Berger is Zerlina
correct, was listening to two Giovannis at once and got confused :p
deze kwaliteit van zang bestaat niet meer spijtig genoeg
今は亡き、グリュンマーとデラ・カーザの声は最高。
