We are staying at a cozy hotel in the mountains. The gentle rain and thunder is soothing us to sleep. Rain sound for sleeping is a great way to relax and beat insomnia

When I was homeless I lived in my car. On cold nights, the rain was comforting. Didn't know how many times I'd hear the comforting sound of the rain on the car. Didn't realize I would miss it. Now I listen in my bed, with my wife. Helps sleep, reminds me of the hard times, makes you value the good times. Much love to anybody who has had to listen to this noise.

00:01 When I was a child, whenever it rained my mum would wake my brother, sister and me up (my dad worked night),turn off all the lights and turn the sofa to face the windows.
We would all sit there with hot chocolate and listen to the storm while waiting to see the lightning, we lived on a hill and could see for miles.
We all grew up to absolutely love thunderstorms and do similar things with our children.
I found out recently that my mum hated them and was terrified but by waking us up and pretending she loved them she found she could cope.

We only have rain 3 months out of a year, it's sporadic though, we have droughts most of the time. I sit by the river sometimes and just listen to the water flow but nothing beats the falling rain...

I've been listening to this for a while now. I love the combination of thunder and rain. The thunder is subtle, so it doesn't disturb you. It's very relaxing and helps me sleep. It also has probably saved my bf's life a few times as it blocks out his horrific snoring, so thank you from us both.

It hasn’t rained like this in a while in Britain and I’m missing it. People here are always like “I really hate rain!” And I love it! I think it’s so relaxing and just, nostalgic. This is the best 'rain sounds for sleeping' video. I use it to go back in time to the late 1970s, with a memory from early childhood. My mother and I arrive at an old rural villa one rainy afternoon in the middle of winter. It has been raining non-stop for hours and when we enter the home it is very dark inside: dim light, deep red or brown walls and wood panelling and small rooms that seem to run off each other. The people who live there remain unseen, or forgotten. They are my mother's friends and strangers to me. Their presence is only apparent because a fire has been lit and there is a pot of mulled wine on the stove. I am a quiet spectator but I experience the chill damp air as well as the warmth of the fire and the intoxicating aroma of the spiced wine. I almost disappear into the low light of a winter's afternoon inside a barely lit, cavernous dwelling. For some reason, I return to this place and time when I need to slip away into oblivion.

Thank you Charlotte just to let people know l had bladder cancer throat n tongue cancer I had 5 operations 31 days of radiation n 7 sessions of chemotherapy after 18months 0f healing I've gone from 47kilos to 77 kilos I do gym 6days a week n walk 3to5 kilometres a day I'm fit healthy n happy life is to be lived not wasted I'm glad to have a second chance

rainy days are always said to be boring sad days but nothing makes a day better than rain.
I don't know why but this makes me extremely happy. I feel comfy, protected and like home. It sounds like a summer evening and the thunderstorm started after a long and hot day. Do you know the smell of fresh after it rains for the first time after a long dry period?
My favourite smell and I feel so alive when I can taste this air.
During the lockdown I feel very sad and hopeless most of the time. This video has made me feel so happy, I almost forgot how happiness feels like. It comes deep from my chest, luck a bubbly, glowing, tickling, warm but also a little nostalgic sensation.
