The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 83-77. Stephon Castle finished with 22 points (2 3PM), 5 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Spurs, while Nathan Mensah added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 steals in the victory. Alex Reese tallied 16 points (3 3PM) and 3 blocks for the Trail Blazers in the losing effort. The Spurs improve to 1-0 in the NBA 2K25 Summer League, while the Trail Blazers fall to 0-1.
Castle is so lucky to be mentored by CP3 at the point in his very first year. This 19yr old defensive demon will be a star someday and will win championships with Victor.
Watching Castle playing on the court just reminds me a shades of SGA and Butler. Kid is special. And won't be surprised is the Spurs get the ROTY again. Spurs might be a dark horse this season in my opinion.

All the guards for Portland couldn't make an entry pass to save their lives. Numerous times Clingan was open on a roll to the hoop & thr guards just threw the ball away. Get him with some legit passers & he'll be fine, but the guards on Portland's summer league team are garbage.
@@WorkingOnItSlowly exactly. You could see him making the same movements from playing at UConn, but didn't see his team capitalize on them once. Everybody wants to be a superstar before playing as an actual team. But hopefully the trail blazers figure it out, I really want to see him excel

Getting Clingan at #7 seems like fair value in a weak draft. He could become another Joel Przybilla, who was a serviceable big for the Blazers.
