So this was our last video in São Paulo. What did you think of this video and also our series of videos in São Paulo? Share your thoughts with us below :)
I've been driving since I was a girl in São Paulo. I haven't had a car for over ten years, I felt calmer without the stress of driving in this metropolis. I don't spend on insurance, fuel and car maintenance. I take the train, subway, Uber and walk around my neighborhood. When I had a "chácara" (little farm) and traveled on the weekends, I rented a car - is expensive but still cheaper than owning a car.
Yes you are absolutely right 👍 we also thought that the transit system is very reliable. In Montreal, Canada where we are from the metro breaks down at least on several occasions every week causing a mayhem 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 so for a city the size of São Paulo and the size of the metro network working this efficiently, it is truly something to be proud of and I really think Brazilians do not give themselves enough credit. We took the metro and used Uber almost 90% of the time and they both work perfectly Thank you so much for watching our video; we hope you enjoyed the content 😊 All the best Abraços
@@global_citizens Yes, the subway and train work well; problems occur, but rarely. During the day there is permanent cleaning and every day, late at night, there is maintenance of the subway and stations (revision of equipments), when they also carry out deeper cleaning and workers have the help of robots.
@@global_citizens agreed. Brazilians should travel more often, but they are afraid of English. I live in Montreal and am also glad I don't have a car here.
@@mattvideoeditor ohh wow, so nice! We are also from Montreal 😊 Yes as a new resident in Brazil I have realized that here in Brazil you HAVE TO speak Portuguese otherwise it is impossible to live here with English only. Hope you enjoyed the video 👍 Thanks for watching
Yes they do look similar and as I mentioned in the video, there are lots of Oxxo convenience stores too which definitely reminded us of Mexico City too 😊 Thanks for watching
This is the old downtown from the 19th and 20th centuries, the old part of the city. Since then, there have been two new financial districts in São Paulo: Paulista Avenue, which also got small and could not handle the expansion, and the newest one around Faria Lima Avenue.
Hi there, yes we did visit both of those areas. Faria Lima we did not film, but we do have a video from Avenida Paulista. As we mentioned in this video, we just wanted to do this video to walk around the neighbourhood and show it to our viewers. We chose this neighbourhood because it was within a short walking distance from most of the tourist attractions in downtown area which we wanted to visit. Thanks for watching our video; we hope you enjoyed the content. All the best 😊
Great video! Haven't you visited the area of Avenidas Faria Lima and Juscelino, in the neighborhoods of Itaim Bibi and Vila Olimpia? Although I prefer the central region of Sao Paulo city , specially the old downtown, these two neighborhoods are really cool to visit too.
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching our video; you are always very kind which we really appreciate 🙏😊 No unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to go visit those avenues that you had mentioned. Next time we come back to São Paulo, we will definitely make sure to visit them. All the best 👍
Absolutely 👍 São Paulo is truly an amazing city and there is so much to do. Thank you very much for watching our video; we hope you enjoyed the content. All the best
As a Brazilian, I do not feel safe walking in this region. There are much safer neighborhoods around the city though. Downtown SP is a bit decadent actually. Thanks for the video.
You are absolutely right, but we wanted to film this part of the city specifically to show that even though you have to be very careful, but as a tourist, even with a camera, you can still walk around downtown during the busy time of the day and see everything. The tourists would want to visit historic part of downtown as well as the other areas and since there is always negative propaganda being presented about Brazil, we wanted to show that actually it is not as bad. That being said, even we did not fly our drone there since we didn’t want to attract too much attention and put a target on our back 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching our video and we hope you enjoyed it All the best Abraço

Drugs are really a problem for us, the combination of countries that surround us (Narco-States), large borders with lax enforcement policies, and the trafficking route to Europe, Africa and Asia create a big problem. Congratulations on the video.
Yes you are absolutely right; unfortunately the situation with drug use is getting a bit out of hand. Hopefully, they will find a solution soon. Thanks a lot for watching our video and for your comment. All the best Abraços 😊
The crack/cocain is a huge problem all over the country unfortunaly. The number of homeless got higher after pandemic. And the federal government wants to make drugs legal and they don't fight against drugdealers. So that's the deal 😢
Homeless people is a very big challenge, here and in cities in the USA and I believe in other countries, whether due to chemical dependency, mental problems, unemployment and inability to pay rent (this happened a lot to families during the pandemic). There are "welcome" programs to treat health, professional qualifications and job vacancies. But it remains a difficult challenge.
@@neonparadise3095yes it’s true, we do agree with you that it seems the problem has much deeper roots. We visited São Paulo in 2020 and even then we felt that there were too many people living on the streets, but now we felt that it’s worse!
Yes there are lots of shops and beautiful buildings that are excellent for tourists to see, but unfortunately there are lots of homeless people as well! Thanks for watching our video; we hope you enjoyed it 👍
It's interesting that you didn't stay in the beautiful upscale neighborhoods of São Paulo, but in a central neighborhood, which really gives you an idea of a myriad of human types, problems but also cool things. In upscale neighborhoods you only see one type of person, one type of street, everything is beautiful, lol.
Absolutely Renata. We did visit a lot of nice places and where we used to live, Montreal Canada, we had all of those fancy buildings and upscale neighbourhoods. As tourists, we travel to see things that are different and also as UA-camrs, we really want to show all sides of a city/country. We really do not agree with all of the negative propaganda that the media produces about countries like Brazil. Unfortunately, we have noticed that even some locals are not really fair to their own city/country whereas Brazil is such a gorgeous, stunning, fascinating, and beautiful country which has way more positive points than the negatives. All the best
You guys stayed in an area where homeless people hang around. I'd never stay there. BTW, you walked carelessly through the Republica Square, which is a very dangerous place. When locals go downtown, we turn our radars on. The safest neighborhoods in São Paulo are the in the West or Southwest zone.
Hi there, yes we wanted to walk there specifically to show the neighbourhood where we stayed. You are absolutely right that it is not the safest area, but we stayed there to be close to a lot of tourist attractions nearby. We also walked during lunch time so it was busy, but we would never walk there at night. Also, we really didn’t walk carelessly (we have been to Mexico City, El Slavador, Guatemala, Colombia, etc. So we know how to walk around sketchy areas!!) but I must say the locals also a bit exaggerate the situation and we did walk there specifically with a camera to show that even though the TV, media, etc. is constantly only showing the accidents and negative news, it’s also not as bad as everyone thinks. We did 1-2 other videos also in the same area and nothing really happened. We are very careful and have a lot of techniques in place for our protection even though it may not show on the camera, but it seems in general the local people also don’t help the negative reputation and are only focused on the negative aspects. We truly think the positive aspects extremely surpass the negative aspects. Thanks for watching our video
It seems that you visited only the old downtown! That's the worse part of town! Most companies left that part of the city and went to other modern business centers! São Paulo has 7 different big business centers! The one in Faria Lima area is the main finantial center! Then you have Berrini, with offices of multinational companies and very nice modern buildings! Paulista Avenue area is another one with lots of shps, malls and offices! And there are others! It's a pity you stick to the worst area!

However, we did several videos in São Paulo (10 videos in total) that you can watch and one was indeed from Avenida Paulista and a few others for the parks and museums throughout the city. The Faria Lima street we passed by it when we went to Iguatemi shopping mall and yes it was absolutely gorgeous, but we did not film that area.
