Ey, a list of 3DS games that I can actually put some input on (for anyone interested in another opinion on some of these games): -7th Dragon - this game is right up my allay, as I picked it up during an Atlus sale after playing the demo and enjoying it. The game is my secondary Atlus game I’m working through on 3DS (with StellaGlow being the primary). I’m a big fan of the character customization, where you get a variety of classes to choose from, and you pick the color palette and voice you like best. -Liberation Maiden - although I don’t have this one, I have heard others talk about it, and it seems neat. -Azure Striker Gunvolt - as a Mega Man fan, ASG is much like the X or Zero series, with its fast-paced action and chaotic bosses; definitely a cool pickup, and while I’d recommend the Switch version first, if all you’ve got is the 3DS, then it’s still worth a shot. -Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse - my favorite of the Shantae games, which is ironic because it’s the only game that doesn’t include Shantae’s iconic animal transformations. It’s still a joy of a platformer, with its lovable characters and absolutely bumping music. A little “fun” fact on this game: when Toys “R” Us was closing, I found a physical copy of this game for $10, but I didn’t find it from the shelf, rather I heard about it when another customer asked for it, and then I found out it was the only copy they had. If I’d had asked about it sooner, I could’ve owned a physical copy of it 😑. Anywho, I appreciate lists like these, spreading the good word of the 3DS eShop (that I wish I payed more attention to in the past). I’m just hoping that more companies put their games on sale, as if the eShop is ending, why not put your games on sale to entice last-minute buyers?

But with Samus Returns, something about the game hooked me in almost immediately, motivating me to fully complete it in a matter of days! It was a type of game I had never experienced before, and it was so exciting and refreshing because of that. Anything from the Boxboy series is a recommend from me. I finished Boxboy, boxboxboy and am currently finishing bye bye boxboy. Such great puzzle games that are quick pick up and play but so difficult to put down.

I don't understand the hate for Samus Returns. It's definitely one of my favorite 3DS games. A great quick review of it, the game can be hard at times for sure!
oh man!! I remember when the trailer for Liberation Maiden came out, thanks for reminding me to get it before it vanishes!!! really love all the recommendations in this video as well, I'm picking some of these up for sure :)
Calling Crimson Shroud a JRPG is really underselling the game in my opinion. It’s far more comparable to table top Dungeons and Dragons style of game. It’s just so different from any JRPG I’ve played.
Another great video dude!!! It's always a shame when digital stores close so many games will be lost but I think we'll see a few of those games come back in the futures as remaster and remakes.
Its such a bummer man. Part of the strengths of digital markets should be that these games are always there and preserved and not overpriced by after market sellers. Every time one of these digital store fronts closes it legitimizes all the people who keep physical collections. It actually feels like the digital stores are down grading as these companies refocus their marketing strategy toward subscription plans that basically say "you can borrow this game from us with a subscription"
I actually sold my 3DS a while back and now I am sorta missing it. It used to be my Pokémon machine but seems there was a bit more to it than that. Thanks for this video. Just discovered your content via a post by Segablocks. Awesome stuff keep ‘em coming😊😊😊🙏
I will suggest Fire emblem revaluation this game now is rocket price before and right now imagine after the eshop close will going to the space 🌌🚀 with that new price
@@HallowedBeThyGame yeah, and the super dark Evangelion style twist towards the end is just perfect, something you don't expect. Never felt so shocked by a chibi artstyled game since grandia 2 😂

I love the Ace Attorney games. I never got around to playing the Professor Layton crossover, so I definitely want to pick it up before the eshop closes. Such a shame that so many digital only titles are going to be lost when the eshop closes. I wish they would put more thought into game preservation. The history of gaming is such an interesting and unique subject and I really hope that more games get ports or are able to be played on emulators for people who can't catch them before the eshop closes.
A real hidden gem if i do say so myself is Moon Chronicles! It is solely eShop exclusive and you guys should definitely grab it! Only bummer is that it's episodic so each "episode" is paid BUT it's a remake of the DS version which easily comes out cheaper playing it on 3ds. Yea the DS version has become pretty pricey over the years. Oh and if my memory serves me right, its the same devs who made Dementium 👍
Crimson Shroud = MUST HAVE Liberation Maid = MUST HAVE Samus Returns = MUST HAVE (people who were butt hurt about indie games getting canned. Phoenix Wright= Collect them all
Nice selection of games! And mist of them I've never heard about! Ace Attorney games are fantastic! Now I need to find a way to add funds to my 3DS account to get Crimson Shroud because it looks awesome! Great video and keep up the good work!
If you link the account funds between your Switch and 3DS, you can add money on your switch, and it’ll carry over to the 3DS. I read about this strategy somewhere, and I’ve been using it a bunch to buy 3DS games.
The 3DS is home to some of the most iconic games made by small developers. But let's not forget some titles like Chibi-Robo Photo Finder, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, the various games available on the Streetpass Mii Plaza, Kirby's Deluxe versions of the side games from Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot, the Pushmo/Stretchmo series and also the Virtual Console. If one is into RPGs we have the Etrian Odyssey series and the Denpa Men series. The former is made by Atlus and is in a *very* familiar style those who have played Persona Q or its sequel will recognize, while the latter is like if Pikmin was an RPG and is basically Pokémon GO before it was actually a thing that existed. There's also the Witch & Hero series which is both fun and challenging. In terms of Mega Man styled platformers. If Azure Striker Gunvolt isn't your thing, then try the Legend of Dark Witch series. All three mainline entries are available on 3DS as well as a spinoff and eight themes for the 3DS home menu can be purchased. If the game feels kinda Touhou-like with its artstyle, it's because the developer NAN-A originally wanted to make the game Touhou-themed but decided to make an original game instead. The main character in the mainline entries basically acts like a combination between Reimu and Marisa, but thankfully *isn't* a kleptomaniac. Let's also not forget about the DSiware games that are going away after the 3DS shuts down as well as the previously mentioned Virtual Console. New 3DS owners can get various SNES games for their 3DS including Earthbound and the original GBC release of Shantae is available on Virtual Console for a reasonable price although the extra dance that unlocks when you play it on GBA can only be accessed via a debug playthrough on Virtual Console which is rather confusing to be honest. So much is being lost next year and we've only got two months left before we can't use pre-paid gift cards and will have to rely on our Nintendo Switches to add funds to 3DS. One set of games I would've recommended are the games developed by SilverStar, but due to them being published by Agetec, a now defunct company, they are permanently delisted and unless someone has uploaded the roms for the games made by SilverStar we may never get to play these classics on original hardware ever again. The Rabi x Laby series did get a collection released on current consoles with updated art and graphics, but it's Japan only which means there's a language barrier that doesn't really mean much but there's still a story to each of the games in the Rabi x Laby series. Also, forgot to mention. Those who are into horror might want to nab the 3DS version of Corpse Party or even Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX. The former is a enhanced port of the PSP and iOS versions of Corpse Party with all kinds of improvements while the later is a complete overhaul of the original game originally released on WiiWare, with improved gameplay (touch controls on 3DS and gyro-aiming on Switch), as well as better graphics and enemy AI.
Thanks so much for reminding me about Corpse Party and Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX. They look right up my alley! Also thanks for sharing this, I'm gonna checkout Legend of Dark Witch!
Samus Returns is pretty underrated. It gets overshadowed a lot by AM2R and now Dread. Sure I do overall prefer AM2R but Samus Returns is a blast and I would've been missing out if I didn't play it just because AM2R is better. The combat is a little bit tedious and repititive for the first 1/4th of the game but after that it loosens a bit and gives you more freedom. The atmsophere is amazing, it's great how they were able to take Metroid II's beeps and boops and make actual atmospheric tracks out of them. The boss battles are just amazing. Next to Dread and Prime 2 it easily has the best bosses in the series. Sure there are points at which it stumbles like the ending segment before the "final" boss, but overall it's a really great game and definitely was a much needed revival for this franchise which also paved the way to the stellar Metroid Dread.
I doubt AM2R had any affect at all on Samus Returns sales considering the vast majority of people who know about AM2R are Metroid fans would likely buy Samus Returns anyway to support the franchise, and also Samus Returns and AM2R are nothing like each other, infact the only reason there even being compared to each other is cause there both Remakes of the same game. Why turn down a offical Remake of Metroid just because a Fanmade one already exists? Why not play both.
@@robertkenny1201 I agree with you; I wasn't talking about sales. In fact the only reason Samus Returns *was* able to get 500k sales at what was basically the end of the 3DS era was because of Metroid fans, and because they showed support to the franchise. I was however talking about people's opinions on how good the games are. Lots of people tend to believe that AM2R is far superior than SR, I think they both excel at what they try to do. AM2R tries to perfect classic Metroid and does an amazing job at that, while SR attempts to evolve Metroid and we know where that led to with Dread.
So 3ds memory card limit is 32 gb. But you can do it so larger sd cards work with it (i have a 64gb sd card plugged in). So i add $40 in gift card each week to it. (It involves a free computer program that tricks memory card into saying that its 32gb, but when plugged into 3ds it clearly shows its true size)
Great list! I need to pick up a few of these myself haha. I'd recommend checking out Rusty's Real Deal Baseball! It's a bunch of quick and fun baseball mini/micro games with a bit of a story. One thing of note though is that while it's free-to-start (as Nintendo likes to call it), you will need to spend money to unlock all of the games, which then also progresses the story. I think you can technically just buy all of the games right away, but haggling is a big part of the game so if you want the full experience, then you will need to unlock them at a more gradual pace.
Ok that’s good to know! Thanks so much for sharing and I had never heard of Rustys Real Deal Baseball. I love learning about stuff like that. Thanks so much and I hope you have an excellent week!
If you like rhythm games - Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX is awesome. Great music, too. Criminally underrated game. Anything Atlus - so Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Odyssey, many of which also have DLC worth buying. Fantasy Life is simply incredible (also has a great DLC expansion). Radiant Historia. Fire Emblem. Plenty on the Virtual Console as well, expecially for the New 3ds/2ds.
To bad Nintendo won’t wake up and port it the Switch. They’re leaving money on the table while their cost for raw materials has sky rocketed. And don’t give me the bs it won’t work because of the two screens. They did it with Bayonetta 2.
Metroid: Samus Returns is a must have, sure it's counter is to O.P. and it can solve all your problems to the point it can give you dating tips it can be your wingman, bestman all the way to being the perfect marriage counselor if it wanted to be but it's the right tool for newcomers and enjoying the game but if your those that hate the counter and if thou are dead-set on playing it old school well threat not for I have thee perfect solution for ye.... don't use it. 7:56 YOOOO E.B.A. fans \^o^/ Music Lives!!!♪♪
Samus Returns introduced a bunch of stuff that was perfected in Dread, however if you want to go further back, there's Castlevania Mirror of Fate, that's the game that introduced the parry actually. It's a good game, and the graphics look great, but it wasn't optimized too well for the console, they definitely learned their lesson for Samus Returns, still completely playable tho. Is funny to think that what is now "The Metroid team" used to be the Castlevania team for a while there, making some of the best selling games in the series.
The 3D Sega collection is just phenomenal! Sure they’ve been ported to every console ever but 3D support on the 3DS? Such a great option! More JRPG goodness on the 3DS I wasn’t aware of? Come on dude!! My wallet can’t take much more! Hahah Awesome video brother! You and Danik made me wanna check a lot of these out! #HallowedBeThyGamers

I had grabbed Liberation Maiden on a sale, glad I did. Snagged Samus Returns on launch, didn't see anything I disliked. As for personal recommendations, I'd say the Shin Megami Tensei titles (4, 4:Apocalypse, Strange Journey Redux, the DevilSurvivors, Persona Q/Q2, and considering the upcoming sequel, Soul Hackers) and the Etrian Odyssey games.
@@HallowedBeThyGame didn't see the rpg vid til after and saw you mentioned a lot of the SMT games already, as well as the Dragon Quest ports (also some of my faves) but yeah, Etrian Odyssey (and by extension the Persona Q games really have the feel of some of the old school CRPGs like Wizardry and Bard's Tale that I grew up on.
Ok I'm going to complain, swear it's short. I love Liberation Maiden, but it sucks to play on the 3ds. Idk if it's because I'm left handed but it cramps my hands a lot. And I think I'd like it better in another console, because stylus controls on an action game are kinda hit and miss.

I never hear this one mentioned. Please check out: 'Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale'. A beautiful game where you play as a little boy in a gorgeous 3d tokyo suburb, where you and your friends "battle" with cards. There's a lot of references to "kaigu" and Japaese hero shows (think power rangers) and you and your friends are finding clues around town of a potential kaigu in your own town. Anyway, it's a super gorgeous and heartwarming game and I'm pretty sure it's only digital. I never hear it talked about on these lists so I had to bring it up!

@@mattiasolsson1523 I better buy it quick then. I did look at the special edition on eBay which includes a physical copy of Revelation but the price is through the roof!
Crimson Shroud is NOT a JRPG. It's an homage to the Western RPG's, especially DnD, done with a slight Japanese twist, that Matsuno found so appealing and what served as the push for him to like games and become a developer (well, one of the reasons he became one). The story, battle progression, stat formulas, character development, etc. is very over the top Western in approach. The only thing that is really JRPG is the visual aesthetic (even then it's done in Matsuno's style, reminiscent of his Ivalice and Ogre Battle worlds), and the music.
For my opinion on getting these games, the only rpg I like is pokemon so I won't get the rpg games, Samus returns is a game I will get, the other platformers and stuff I don't think I will get. And please play rhythm heaven megamix

It’s basically a game of chicken, where I’m really keen to pick them up, but am waiting just in case. One way or another though, there are still lots that I missed out on that I’m desperate to play.
That’s why day one I bought the 32gig memory card.
@@riccccccardo Mine already has a 32GB SD card in it lol.
@@worldsboss oh my gosh my mega 3ds collection is 98% physical so so I have tons of space. I bought smt apocalypse, steam dig 1+2, shanty, animal crossing all on digital the rest physical games.
Crimson Shroud is an AMAZING choice. It plays so close to tabletop games, and it's so cool
There are 3 games that I can easily recommend that's digital-only and isn't well-known:
1. Sadame
2. 50 PINCH Barrage
3. Sakura Samurai
Great! Thanks for the heads up. Sakura Samurai looks right up my alley.
I don't understand the hate for Samus Returns. It's definitely one of my favorite 3DS games. A great quick review of it, the game can be hard at times for sure!
Yeah I agree, it rocks. The hate around it is undeserved.
Its one of my favorite Metroid games and an awesome comeback for the franchise.
Hate? I've only ever heard that it's awesome. And as someone who has played a great deal if it, it IS awesome!
oh man!! I remember when the trailer for Liberation Maiden came out, thanks for reminding me to get it before it vanishes!!!
really love all the recommendations in this video as well, I'm picking some of these up for sure :)
So happy you enjoyed it! Liberation Maiden is so friggin fun, have a blast!
Couldn't agree more! Crossing my fingers!
@@ataridc yeah it really blows... something has to change
i knew the video would be good when i heard the pursuit theme in the beginning 😌
All very good games. I bought Liberation Maiden after i saw your video.
Hope you enjoy it!
I actually sold my 3DS a while back and now I am sorta missing it. It used to be my Pokémon machine but seems there was a bit more to it than that. Thanks for this video. Just discovered your content via a post by Segablocks. Awesome stuff keep ‘em coming😊😊😊🙏
That's awesome! I love SegaBlocks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Hmm citra ? Lol
I would recommend Persona Q. Great game if you are a persona fan, though the physical copy has had corruption issues, so best to get it digitally
Fantastic info, thanks!
I will suggest Fire emblem revaluation this game now is rocket price before and right now imagine after the eshop close will going to the space 🌌🚀 with that new price
Great recommendation! Love Fire Emblem
7th Dragon is such a gem. Never heard of it before, now I'm 50h in and enjoying the hell out of it.
Gosh it is truly a gem on the 3DS. I love it and totally incredible. Glad you are enjoying it!
@@HallowedBeThyGame yeah, and the super dark Evangelion style twist towards the end is just perfect, something you don't expect. Never felt so shocked by a chibi artstyled game since grandia 2 😂
Man that was like an Evangelion moment wasn't it?! I need to replay it now haha
I'm trying to get the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton game but it's so expensive physically. I got Phoenix Wright 4-6 and all the Shantae games.
I hear it’s mega expensive
I have ace attorney exclusive games and its DLC, plus its trilogy game. Shantae its a good choice as well.
Hallowed: "You should give these games a try before the eshop closes definitely."
Me, who hacked the 3DS to play other regions games and will never run out of places to download games: "Oh no, I must hurry up before it's too late!"

Yeah game preservation is something the major studios need to rally behind more. There's too much that could just disappear.
It will still be possible to acquire these game on your 3dsafter eshop closes, just not legitimately
I have both Dual Destinies and Spirit Justice and its DLC. It was worth it.
At lot of them are on iOS and probably android if you end up not getting them.
@@Tech_Marauder good to know, thanks for sharing
Such a great list of pick ups! Great video!
Thanks so much!
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call is a MUST HAVE, and don't forget to purchase the DLC tracks/characters !!
Oh good point! Thanks for sharing!
Wow thanks so much! Never heard of this so I’m excited to check it out!
played Crimson Shroud, liberation maiden and professor layton vs phoenix wright all of these games are really nice.
That’s awesome! Glad you enjoyed them!
Don't worry about anything being lost to time... Everything been copied by pir... Archivists... For game preservation
Crimson Shroud = MUST HAVE
Liberation Maid = MUST HAVE
Samus Returns = MUST HAVE (people who were butt hurt about indie games getting canned.
Phoenix Wright= Collect them all
Nice selection of games! And mist of them I've never heard about! Ace Attorney games are fantastic! Now I need to find a way to add funds to my 3DS account to get Crimson Shroud because it looks awesome! Great video and keep up the good work!
Hope you enjoy it! And thanks for watching
Totally agree and incredibly well said!
Would still love some timestamps or at least titles in the description! Thanks for the videos!
My bad on that, forgot to go back and update this one's descripton

Whewww lad. What a great list
Happy you enjoyed!
That's great to know! Thanks!
Some quality and glorious recommendations here. I need to check out Hatsune Miku. Heard really good things.
Samus Returns is terrific. The haters are fools
It’s true.
I agree.
To bad Nintendo won’t wake up and port it the Switch. They’re leaving money on the table while their cost for raw materials has sky rocketed.
And don’t give me the bs it won’t work because of the two screens. They did it with Bayonetta 2.
I really love fantasy life it's one of my favorite games for the 3ds which also has DLC for it😁

Metroid Samus Returns is quite literally the only game I played on the 3DS that's in this list.
dual destinies and spirit of justice were ported to mobile btw dont worry about getting it in time
Samus Returns introduced a bunch of stuff that was perfected in Dread, however if you want to go further back, there's Castlevania Mirror of Fate, that's the game that introduced the parry actually.
Wow that is fantastic! I didn't know that. Thanks so much for sharing this info. I need to checkout Mirror of Fate!
Truly a metroidvania Dev team. 🤔

I had grabbed Liberation Maiden on a sale, glad I did. Snagged Samus Returns on launch, didn't see anything I disliked. I never hear this one mentioned. Please check out: 'Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale'. A beautiful game where you play as a little boy in a gorgeous 3d tokyo suburb, where you and your friends "battle" with cards.
