My 8-yr old had one week to put together a routine and practice for her school tryouts (no dance or cheering experience). She modified what she couldn't keep up with as well as slowed it down to go along with her music. She found the video intimidating at first but after watching it a few times she was more at ease. She loves how Siobhan calls out the counts, saying it's "catchy". We found out this Friday that she aced her tryout and made the squad, thank you for the video.

for tryouts they usually just make you do a short and easy dance, around 2 simple cheers, and around 3 chants which are always easy. then you do a few jumps, and show them any tumbling you can do

lol ive been practicing for 2 weeks on how to do that routine and i just learned it lol it's a really fun routine to doi love the popping and looking parts their my favs of the whole dance!
This Dance gave me lifeee! Like i been trynna practice cheer dance cause its been the reason why i wouldnt make cheer cause i didnt have good choreography im gonna practice this til my tryouts in spring :) !

I plan on trying out for chearleading, it will be a fun way to enjoy my senior year. Hopefully they'll take in energetic girls who are willing to learn and practice since I have never in my life taken a dance class.

@thedevil898 you definitely should! idk about you but we had a couple dancers come to our team and they turned out ot be real good. the only thing they had to learn was how to be tight.
i have danced ever since i was 3 and a half and only cheered for like 3 months because my schedule was too tight, but do you guys think that if i try out for cheer i could still make it? because i have the dance moves, energy, flexibility, and ive had the cheer experience...
i do cheer gymnastic and multiple types of dance cheerleading has three parts to it which are chants cheers and dance so cheerleading although its not hard as gymnastics and dance is still pretty hard

@frequencydude No, cheerleading is about team work and commitment. Also about dancing and stunting and having fun, but at times you really have to be serious. And it's not about acting sleezy like you said, but if you're a good cheerleader, you know that exaggerating you're moves and facials is number one for catching people's attention, especially judges and you have alot more fun with it, no matter how tired you are afterwards, it's all worth it. :)
