I was raised a short distance from there . There are equipment at the bottom. When they were digging they hit a water pool and they barely made it out alive . It filled up very quickly

I did scuba dive that lake and the deepest part of the lake was 40 ft . The bottom was gypsum silt and that was about 30 years ago

Thanks for the information. I recently saw an old photo from when the mine was operating, it looked to be about 50 feet deep. I will be going back and covering this area again in the future.

What a beautiful spot to go swimming for the day!
Hoping to get there this summer and explore this amazing area. How long did it take to walk to the lake from where you parked ?
    Awesome video, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching! I think it took us 15 to 20 minutes. It's an easy walk as the tail used to be a railway.

Why would there be lures in there? I can’t imagine there are fish since it’s a flooded mine.

Thanks Meg, I think your channel name is great! There are definitely not Many people in the maritimes making content. Thanks for the support!

Don't let lawyers hear about this place. They'll convince the county to prohibit all the fun people are having.

What is nice about this place is the town is advertising it and maintaining the trail with help from volunteers, they clean up all the garbage people leave behind.

Things are different in Cape Breton, not as much meddling as you'd see in more populated places.

That looks like so much fun! Especially the cliff jumping. My dad taught me how to swim when I was 2 but my poor hubby can't swim. We are both from Saint John NB originally. I love watching you visit all these hidden treasures in the maritimes.

Thanks for watching. I really appreciate the support! The cliff is fun to jump off but you have to make sure you jump far enough away from the cliff or you could hit the bottom where it sticks out.
