I can't believe it, rest in peace Esper... little Russian lady, years ago I saw that vine and then followed you on your journey. Thank you for everything Esper, we'll always love you!
I understand this anxiety far too well. My Borzoi Zeal was diagnosed with TVD, a Grade 4 murmur, and an arrhythmia last year, and you don't even want to know how much I have spent on cardiologists for him. Just a few days ago, a friend of mine lost his brother (littermate) to sudden death, so the fear and anxiety that I've had about losing Zeal has reached new heights. Zeal has recently started a medication to control his arrhythmia in hopes that we can keep him around longer, and we're sending samples to the team that's handling the heart studies over at Texas A&M in hopes of getting more answers. It's absolutely heartbreaking because he's only 2 years old. :(
@@spectrumboy6103 He's doing okay! We're seeing his cardiologist for his yearly testing (echo, X-rays, labs, etc) later on this month to make sure that we're not edging into congestive heart failure territory, but he's done really well on the meds he was prescribed a year ago. Thanks for asking!
Hi Jacob....Sending you, your lovely wife Tina & the beautiful Miss Ora my continued support, heartfelt sympathy & prayers from The Great PNW today....I have loved & said goodbye to almost a dozen wonderful Borzoi & Whippet kids over the years,& I there are really no words to describe the deep feeling of loss each time they pass on to their "next life"....I know that TIME is the "the great healer",but, there will never come a day that I don't have a thought about each & every one of my Sighthounds....Esper will ALWAYS have a special place, right in the center of your heart(since she was your very first Borzoi in your married life)....but,sweet Ora is there to remind you that life goes on....to help you stay strong, and be reminded that you still have plenty of love to bestow upon her, as she grows & lives her life to the fullest!....may your Passover/Easter weekend be blessed with many happy memories, & the hope for many joyful tomorrows!💜
I am so, so sorry for your loss it is heartbreaking to lose a pet you seem such kind caring owners and I and my two borzois send your family, two and four legged a gentle hug xxx. UK xxx
It’s always sad to lose a family member. That’s why she was so close to you. I had two big dogs that grew up together, a German shep and a malamute. The malamute was a grieving for months and wouldn’t want to eat or even move much. After three months I got a mutt puppy. The two dogs were together for ten yrs. the pup drove the big dog nuts and unfortunately the pup got parvo. At the time there was no cure and we lost him. By then the mala was over grieving but it’s still heartbreaking. Dogs are like your kids sometimes more so. Hope you are well and your pup is ok. Stay strong. Get another dog. I’m on my seventh dog now. ❤️👍🏻💪🏻🖖🏻🐾🐾🐾🙋🏼♀️ by the way my name is from one of the dogs.
@@esperborzoi We just took on a puppy, I've never had one I always had four to eight month old rescue's. His ears and eyes haven't even set yet. Good life is still going on. He's a pincher, pinches our hands, pinches our feet, and tries to pinch our Dear hound. At ten weeks he's retrieving a tennis ball. We just have to get him and the Cat on the same page and the house will be Zen
I’m so sorry you lost Esper, she was a very pretty and funny girl to see but I’m so glad that you and your family had the opportunity to share your life with her. I lost my Emma about half a year ago at the start of my first semester of college last year from a sudden heart attack after her legs gave out. She was 11 years old and had lived a very long and fruitful life.
Just found you but I know what your going through. Last year my husband's dog Drax got sick. On July 7 the vet called & said everything looked good & he'd be coming home the next day. That night they sent a picture & I told my husband he wasn't coming home. I knew it in my gut. The next morning the call no dog owner wants happened. Our other dogs miss him to this day. RIP Esper.
Thank you for making this and all your videos. There isnt enough information about borzoi especially from actual owners. Stay strong and keep sharing.🐕💞💞💞
My sheltie ate something toxic on a lovely spring walk. From perfect health to dead took less than 2 hours. For Duff I was glad in a way, because it was so quick, but for us it was more than traumatic. We are elderly, and decided not to get another dog. Your borzois, living and dead, have been my consolation. (Duff was a sheltie.)
I appreciate this video man, very genuine. I lost my main man, a little staffy called Winston over a year ago via equally unexpected circumstances. And there is still a lot of emotions tied up there. But my heart is out to you and yours for your loss. But very much, thank you for the video.
I'm so sorry to hear about Esper. I both can't imagine what you're going through and also know exactly what you're going through, having gone through it myself a few times. It's always so hard to lose a loved one. We loved watching your videos over and over while we were getting ready for our girls to arrive. They were so fun and informative. You can really tell how much you love your dogs. This one hits pretty close to home, because with an 11 year old greyhound, we're approaching that day for him too. I don't know how our puppies are going to react, but I know for sure it will be hard for all of us.
I am so sorry to hear bout your loss, it's always tough, and it's a part of being a pet owner. We're still going to make content, Ora has taken the mantle and when we are ready we are definitely going to get another little one. I really appreciate you writing.
We had two dogs named Ellie and Lula. Ellie was a hound dog and Lula was a yorkinese (Yorkie/Pekingese mix). They we together since they were puppies and as they got older became inseparable, like anywhere Ellie would be Lula would follow and they ate, slept, played together and groomed one another. We called them the old lesbian couple in our house cause they were both girls but they truly cared about each other. Lula got sick and found out she got an infection in her uterus and we had to put her down. Ellie grieved her death and later had a stroke about a week after Lula passed. They have been gone for 6 months now and I watched two different kinds of death plus how Lula's death effected Ellie. She grieved hard...and it still hurts to this day.
@@chdreturns yeah she did, and from her lung filling up with fluid the night she passed...it was unforgettable and we didn't even have time to take her to the vet. It was that fast...dogs can go through grief and depression just like we do.
This is my first time coming across your channel. I watched several videos in a row & fell in love only to hear that this precious angel passed away.... My heart is broken for you. I have 4 beautiful boy dog babies that are engrafted into my spirit & several more before them, so I most definitely feel your heart ache. May The Good Lord ease y'all's pain. Just know I was touched by her videos from #1 & I know that I'm not the only person that feels this way. She served a real healing purpose. Please take comfort in that... God Bless your Family and stay 🆙💕💕❤️~
You'll be shocked at how strong you are when you need to be. Lost my eldest child when he was 29. Thought it would end me, but it gave me new strength to make the most of life and to be strong for my other children 💙 They need me on deck, strong and leading them through grief. Of course you will never be the same but your life is always richer for the experience.
@@axollot Im very sorry for you loss axollot, Im glad youve been able to find the strength to be strong for yourself and your other children. Best wishes.
I'm so sorry to hear about Esper.... as a borzoi mom it's something I'm really passionate about. My dog's breeder and I talk yearly on healthchecks and she before she places any dog gets minimum 2 echocardiograms and makes sure she only breeds consistently heart healthy parents. If you don't know your dog's background, testing and getting at least one echo done is super important.
Sending all my love to you, Tina and the many other Borzois you have. Your videos are fantastic by the way and thanks for the merch of yours that I got a year or so ago for my birthday. I wear the hoodie often when I go out. Espers legacy will live on and I send all my wishes to her up in Borzoi heaven where she can collect all the beets she could dream of. Thanks also for being an inspiration and making me smile with your videos. Cali W :) 🐶💜
As someone who just got a borzoi (and someone who who got a BIG borzoi, I'm doubly worried as I project my humanocentric view) I can relate to the worry. But I can't relate to the loss and won't pretend to. I hope you have felt even more comfort in the meantime. These circumstances aren't fair, but I hope you know that you've been a hopeful figure before and despite it.
I was in the process of looking to adopt a 2nd dog when my first dog, an English setter, was suddenly diagnosed with a heart defect. It's pretty significant and he's only 2 years old. So it's been a tough thing to process. He's my first dog of my own and it feels like a gut punch. I still want a second dog, but I think for now I will wait and spend time with my boy until I know more about his future.
